I guess what I wrote is confusing people, but I didn't say the singing, but the song.

The song during the hacking sequence is similar to songs I heard in cyberpunk games and anime, while the hacking itself is quite "Ghost in the Shell" or even somewhat like in the Shadowrun video games when you go inside the "matrix" and destroy pixels.

Having the hacker sing while doing it is new though.

Bleh, when it comes to cyberpunk, I only pay attention to Ghost in the Shell, or more specifically the films & SAC to be exact. Why? Because the Major was cool, with the right voice actress to boot.

She was a total brat in Arise and the original. Her cool factor went cold in those (no pun... ok maybe a little, intended).

Yeah, I know. That's why I said ditch the singing and the scene will have more tension and serious-fun, not cheese-fun. Watching the Walkure girls hack-singing this episode reminds me of shows like Glee or Highschool Musical.

I didn't mind the lighter tone of MakiRei. The rest of the episode is weighed down by MAKING CATGIRLS CRY, the significant Var discoveries, and the trio being trapped at the end.
