Well, according to NHK's website, the animation studio has indeed been changed to Studio Deen. But, as ramlaen has said, the director, series composition, music composer, producer and production supervisors remain the same. Imho, these are the people who had made Log Horizon S1 so memorable and it's a relief that they're still here to make good anime.

Hopefully the switch to Studio Deen would improve on S1's greatest failing, which is the rather lackluster animation and art direction. I'm surprised that Satelight won't be taking up the challenge this time, but I guess it's probably busy with Madan no O on its plate

If it's just the Animators then it's fine.

Heck, you could have told me Studio Deen animated the first season and I would have bought it- Needless to say it wasn't one of Satellite's best job.

It's not because of the studio. NHK productions are never high budget. But I dunno why they kept the OP? They could use another song with the same singers.

Probably because Database was pretty well received.

Of course, those who hate it will be in for something called the skip button/fast forwarding.

Yes, it was. But it's somehow lazy to do so. They could ask the same guys to make another catching song.

It's a bit too much budgeting if they can't even pay for another song.... I love Database, but I would love to see what other crazy tunes they could come up next...

They should benefit more for having a different theme regardless of how popular the first was... Gotta sell those singles after all.

William's part in the raid in the preview was good (his appearance later in the PV looks ... odd). Kanami ... er ... are they sure this is for kids? Of course, it's nothing explicit, but still.

Yeah. Kanami's appearance looks too sexy for NHK show. Especially than they toned down Marielle's swimsuit in S1.

Also, Tetora has a very feminine voice. Pretty high-pitched too. Sounds like an Idol. *thumbs up*

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?
I have really bad feelings about changing animation studio to Deen...

Well, DTP Kanami and Go East Kanami are different character class.

I don't think that class difference is problem here. Just compare Kanami's boobs on both images...

You know, people, I understand the unease with Deen, but look on the bright side! At least it's not J.C Staff doing the adaption! Heaven knows what sort of madness we'd get if they're handling EVERYTHING in S2 >=3

DEEN, huh. Kinda have mixed feelings about the change.

Unchanged OP is saddening too, MWAM has a lot of good other songs (Yes, I start listening to them after watching Log Horizon).

Eh debatable- I have a better track record with J.C Staff than with Studio Deen.

If you really want to pull out a worse option, it's probably Zexcs... I think some people are still mentally scarred by Itsuten...

I feel Deen is mainly notorious for its storytelling adaption, combined with their animation. This time, though, they're only doing animation, so the storytelling will probably be better.

ZEXSC has some good series too. The thing is that you can't judge the quality of adaptation looking on studio. But in general you could mesure quality/stile of animation. Cause unlike directors and scriptwriters head animators are mainly in-house guys.

When I heard "DEEN" I immidietly remembered Umineko and DEEN/stay kitchen (good that ufotable took over the latter)

If it's just purely animation without any influence in other areas, then I can accept it. Just make sure they have no access to the script and music department. The only reason why DEEN as pure animators are OK is because, IMO, their artstyle seems quite similar to what Satelight did in season 1, including the fact that the Log Horizon anime never had any really good animation to begin with.
