Spoiler for Garnet:
Just a small scary point. Elias has 22110 Hp and 16583 MP. That is about 50% more HP than Naotsugu and almost 25% more MP than Shiroe. Or roughly twice the Hit points of any other spellcaster and twice the Mp of all but the speciality mages. |

In all seriousness I don't think Kanami is anywhere near a female Kamina. Kamina is gar, if you want, the typical guy who does thing because of nonsensical shounen manliness and achieves them because, well, he is fueled by spiral manliness.
Kanami from what we've seen is full of life, a little reckless and unconscious but I wouldn't say ditzy. She simply sees the positive in every situation and resolutely goes forward following her ideals, never paralyzed by fear. I would say it's what drags people in her wake, because she gives them hope and some of her fearless energy. It's not for nothing she ended up the leader of the Tea Party or the bunch of her current ragtag troupe. People just look up and admire her. Shiro's had two big moments, the creation of the Round Table and the contract that made what's his name, rundelhaus? an adventurer. Since then his energy and problem solving have been a bit lacking. |

I was mostly responding to the 'replace Shiroe with Kanami and delegate Shiroe to her sidekick' thing. I think there's enough anime with grar-like heroes, I like the Log Horizon is more focused on the world building and infrastructure-building to more action-oriented focus.
Then again, I feel the same way about harem dude. It really throws me out when hey, it's this focus on economics and tactics and then ... and there's this dude where literally the entire city has a crush on him. As for Kanami, she's basically a black hole of charisma. She draws people in (which is how she formed the Tea Party), but then they have to save her. This is canon. She kept getting crazy ideas and poor Shiroe would have to figure out how to get it to work / get her out of scrapes / etc.

Finally got caught up with this show. I kept forgetting, putting it off and getting caught up with other stuff even though I really wanted to watch it week by week.
Anyways, Kanami is just as fun as I thought she would be. Her party, especially Leonardo was fun to watch too. I can see why people follow her around, she's super -fun, but she generally lets you do what you please, as long as she isn't making you do anything right that moment. She's rapidly rising my list of favourite characters in this series and maybe even of all series.

I don't know if the novel gives more explanation but this DTP was substantially a group of friends iright? They weren't a guild.
Realistically speaking I expect that at least a few of them have been hanging out and doing stuff together before they officially were recognized as a static group and adopted a name. So well I think it would be probably difficult to even determine when exactly DTP was born.
