Monir just stepped out his time-machine to tell me that the episode was great but he's not going to tell us anything about it in order to not spoil the surprise. So I'm going to lock the thread for him until it's closer to air time in our current time stream.

They really rushed Vol 9. Hopefully we will see more Kanami toward the end of the series. Vol 8 will only last around 6-7 episodes. I don't about the rest.

What the... why did they do this.
Why did they cram an ENTIRE NOVEL WORTH OF CONTENT INTO ONE EPISODE!?

So far Log Horizon pace has been 5-6 episodes per novel.
But this episode did the ENTIRE volume 9 in one episode, skipping a ton of stuff.

I don't understand the decision on this direction at all.
I figured they'd at least do 2-3 episodes of Kanami go East.

Is it possible that we will see a longer, more detailed version from Kanami's viewpoint after the kid's story?

Nope. They did the whole volume 9 in 24 min.
Just constant scene change and dialog, it's was insane.
It was almost like watching a slide show summary.

They did what? Whole volume in one episode? I have bad feeling about this... this just stinks a anime only ending :/

The novel is not even published and production of the episode was likely started months ago.

The fact that Leonardo apparently likes pizza rather than sushi probably clues into the fact that the voicing for this was probably done before Mamare changed it.

No dude. The content of volume 9 has been up for over a year.
Volume 9 is a re-compilation of an existing novel serialization originally on Mamare's webpage.

The web novel is not the same version of the story as is being published, you cannot use it.

I think ao's talking about the fact that the web novel and the side story are almost exactly the same. Of course, I don't think the animation staff/director knew how much would be changed for the published volume, considering the point I mentioned above.

Since you have read the web version and the updated version, were any of the parts shown in today's episode from parts that were changed.
