So wasn't everything you wrote basically what the anime did? Mr. Smiley took a few swings at her, but she began to dodge it. It's part of our muscle reflexes. Just like how shellshocked veterans would respond to a hallucination of a grenade by ducking down rapidly during a warm, sunny day in the park. The punch still came out of nowhere because we were expecting her to be crushed by two Titans - one was bad enough, but two almost makes it impossible for you to live. And yes, she did solidify her emotions in the end.

You said in the previous post that you liked the anime version better because it showed Mikasa explicitly fighting the titan since the audience otherwise "wouldn't be sure whether she'd live or not with only 1 short blade and no 3DMG against a Titan." What i responded with was that this was never a important to begin with, hence the disagreement.

I don't get why'd you think that. They're probably just thinking, "Oh, guys, let's just add some more scenes and more special effects to stretch the time." I don't know how it downplays her weakness. Her weakness was her emotions, but her strength was her reflexes. Eren's death may have caused her weakness, but it just shows that Eren's influence on her and on her survivability will be more than anything her temporary emotions can bring her down to. You may not look at it this way, but Eren was the reason that she's this strong. It's because of his words to her, her influence to her that made her a perfect killing machine. So no, she really was suicidal during that time, but her emotions cannot overwhelm that part inside her where Eren resides in, not matter how blind she gets.

The studio didn't think things through when they tried to artificially stretch the scene and it shows. If you're here for the action, of course you're not going to care whether they inserted some anime original or not, even when it makes a difference like here or the stuff back in episode 2. But it matters to me because the recollection with Mikasa was one of my favorite parts of the manga and i don't like how they altered it so carelessly.

Yeah, this is probably what they were going for. But the studio did such a bad job showing it. The flashing red cells... come on, really? Made it seem like it was some sort of biological/genetic thing. Why not memories of his face? Why not memories of their time together? Remove the pomegranate and that ray of light too and the scene would have been much better.

1. How did Eren became a titan was remain unexplained.

2. I don't remember Mikasa burst into tear and cried in the manga, just felt surprisingly shell-shocked of the fact that Eren is miraculously alive, as a renegade titan.

3. In the manga, Annie, Reiner, Bertholdt and Jean weren't with Armin and Mikasa witnessed that renegade titan was in fact Eren, in a particular chapter. But in the anime, the 4 of them were present along with the duo and became a rock-solid witnesses.

I got the feeling that the anime production staffs are altering some scenes to make it slightly different than the manga.

PS: In episode 4, I noticed the Eren x Annie scene was not included into the episode. (Not sure if any of fellow shippers were upset of this or not. )

Number 2 and 3 are both wrong as they both occur in the manga in chapter 9 pages 32-40.
Is it really that hard to check things before saying them? At least before accusing the production staff of altering scenes
