I think we know all that we need to know to understand the story, and we'll find out the rest in due time. This is a perfectly valid storytelling choice, not every story follows the "show all the background asap" template. (But then I'm also not in the camp of viewers who want to find out everything as soon as possible. I'm perfectly fine waiting until the writer decides to make their reveals.)

Also, I still don't understand all the Frontier comparisons. Frontier is not the only other Macross out there, and Delta is very much not trying to be Frontier v2. In fact if you ask me it seems it's trying to distance itself from Frontier in many ways, including pacing, storytelling, character types and characterization choices, etc.

At the moment it's the Windermere Nation that declared the war. So carefully said the are the bad guys. The true villains will show at a later stage butI tend to guess between Roid and Keith are the villains behind the curtain.
