I hate to repeat others but yeah I really enjoyed this episode particularly the first time Karada met hiro during the flashback.
You know that is one of the few things I dislike about this show so far other than the fact that we still haven't seen Hiro's point of view on things for the most part(though perhaps they are saving that for later). |

Episode 8 had me in tears. Very touching...
It made me realise that on one side I feel sorry for Shouko, but on the other I just can't. I don't know what to think, I can't find a satisfying balance between those two... Overall, this was a superb episode and the series is keeping up the excellent level.

Am I the only one that felt like slapping some sense into Karada in this episode? This episode did not make me cry, it made me angry, angry at Karada.
If they were trying to elicit some sympathy from me, they have failed in this episode, because my anger and frustration at Karada's stupidity overwrote any feelings of sympathy I might had have for her. Yes, yes... I know. She's only 12, but still. I basically spent the first half of the episode frothing at the mouth over the silliness( or naiveness, if you want to be nice) of Karada, and it was not until they started showing the flashback that I simmered down. Then the flashback ended and I went back to frothing. If I was the brother, I most probably would have been screaming at her by now. If that makes me a villain, then so be it. I am not by nature, an explosive man, but even I have my limits of tolerance, and this just breaks the allowed limits of human stupidity. Karada is 12 already! She's not 6 or something, but the anime seems to revel in making her act like some sort of mentally-retarded child. She acts more like she's 6 or below. Children are not that mentally-stupid at the age of 12! I. I... ARGH! *tears hair out* Anyway, I don't see how this episode can make a case for a Hiro&Karada pairing as some have hoped for. The relationship is so obviously a brother and sister one. Family love yes, but not a romantic one. Honestly... I would be very disappointed if Hiro did not at least lecture Karada a bit when they finally reunite. I rated this episode a 7, because they got the job done, and the flashback was informative( and touching). Anger aside, the story is moving along. Cheers.

lol yea ive been cursing at karada for ages as well...why is she doing such a thing and making everyone worry? well she is 12 but she should have known better...at the age of 12 you are still in the protection of a parent (or guardian) and its just unnatural for whatever reason to run off ~ you will still have the feeling of needing to be protected...i bet karada wouldnt have ran off if she was in her chibi body
