Tbh, the animation is not too bad. It's certainly above any fights from Overlord's first three seasons and better than JoJo's lesser fights & DBS fights. Not to mention that they used the annoying "zzzrrrmmm" sound FX that was popular since or during Fate: Apocrypha.

But the enormous gap of artistry between S1 & S2 really did throw people for a loop, especially for normies who didn't even know that the anime changed studio:

For them, the disappointment might be next to immeasurable to the point where they deemed that the S2 fights suck.

Heck, you can even argue that Garo: Vanishing Line fights (a show which mostly flew under people's radar) still has more artistry than OPM S2 fights even though said Garo was made two years prior by MAPPA.

since we are on subject of disappointing fight(or if not on subject, I'll make it so ) the Suiryu vs Saitama.

Plenty of okay scenes, like the Garou one, and then there's terrible ones like this one(that whole little tournament arc, not just the Suiryu fight). It definitely didn't hype me up for another season like the 1st season did; and visuals were certainly a core reason for that.

Murata's art is superb but he really messed up the story here trying to embellish it.

The third season won't get this far anyway. That's like season five material. The arc is just that long in the manga.

Don't think so. They ended S2 within the Monster Association Arc. so I expect that there goal is to finish this arc. Maybe this season will be a bit longer. Just 12 episode probably aren't enough.

“and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.“

I don’t grok it. Manga sells a ton. S1 sold discs. Yet the production committee seems to be sabotaging the adaptation.

It doesn't surprise me, I just hope the production works out better this go-around.

Can't believe they waited over 3 years for a sequel. Garou being left on a cliffhanger was kinda annoying back in season 2.

Well, prepare yourself for Garou being left on a cliffhanger again this season. Unless split-cour.

It's awfully annoying how the publication of the manga volumes are halted because of Murata's redraws. One of the upcoming fights got changed like 3 times. About 25 unpublished chapters in volumes are still needed to finish the Garou arc. Till that happens I doubt the season would premiere.

Yeah, I'm really curious to see how they adapt this season, not just content-wise because the stuff in this arc will be really stretching the visuals but also just pacing-wise there's a lot to cover.
