Am I hearing you correctly or are we marching to a different tune here, perhaps?

The first recap film also stood on its own and I'm looking forward to seeing how the Hibike universe will once again be reinterpreted this fall. Perhaps they'll pick a focal point you'll find even more enjoyable, this time...
I would have liked hibike to expand on the musical parts and performances instead of just focusing on drama. I only refence kobayashi because it blends in the serious parts while still having light hearted parts. I hope they do expand on the school festival performance like they did "Rydeen" in the first movie.

Drama took centre stage in the TV series and although I too would have liked some of the performances expanded, or included even, in the series - I can also say that I think Hibike handled the light hearted side -the totality of band member interactions and its inherent drama- as well as Kobayashi handles her time with dragons...
Wouldn't want to chose and -fortunately- don't really have to. The full performances animated, we agree, is something to look forward to.

... I'd call it constructive criticism if you did.

I wish that they will animate full final performance + result announcement in the movie version.

Searched for Dream Sollister, ends up with a apparent Masaaki Endoh cover of it. First 30 seconds was good enough for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otj6sSRusS4

I just finished both seasons on the weekend and I can't stop thinking about this series. The characters are just too lovable and well developed. I think i'm in love with this series. I need more of this stuff and the movies aren't enough. I hope KyoAni will pick up a 3rd season of this but we probably won't see it until like 2020.

Why did I not watch Hibike Euphonium back in 2015?

I love how KyoAni based their shows on real life locations.

That's actually not rare at all. A lot of anime do that.

Example

The Noein discs include a "travelogue" where director Akane Kazuki and lead actress Kudou Haruka tour Hakodate, the port city in Hokkaido where the show takes place. Here's a famous scene set in the dockyards there:

Another type of travelogue appears at the end of every episode of Showa Monogatari, a nostalgic piece about life in Tokyo in 1964. They revisit locations in the story and show, through photographs and paintings, what those places looked like then and now: https://youtu.be/eWS4SN8fibI?t=1287

Tsuritama caused a bit of an anime tourism boom in the seaside city of Enoshima where the story takes place. People were coming to the beach there and doing the "Enoshima dance" like the characters in the OP:

Am a bit surprised to see this on NHK and not a commercial network like the other two seasons. Has it lost momentum as a vehicle for advertising and manga promotion?
