I know they never intended for it to last as long as it did, but I think it's time to let the ol' girl go. I remember as a child when it launched and became a complete laughing stock because of the lens issue.

I think at this point I would prefer to have the Hubble Space Telescope be retrieved and placed in a NASA museum as an honour for all the ground-breaking science it has contributed to. They could always send up the Space Shuttle to do that . . . oh wait, the Space Shuttle has become space history too!

Were the ones who screwed up with the Hubble Space Telescope's lens fired too?
