I can't help but grimace whenever 'easy goblin jobs' get mentioned in anime now . But anyways, this was fine. This show is always reasonably good while never blowing me away. It was basically another episode. The cast is back, the food is good, and new characters ending up in that restaurant is once again the focus.

Can't help but wonder about the first door of the season though. That thing was in the middle of a goblin nest. Isn't there a cool episode missing where goblins swarm the restaurant and Kuro has to wipe them out? I can't imagine that goblins can't figure out how to open a door.

Episode was fine overall. The characters are still good and everything is just really comfortable.

The door is already part of the Red Dragon's horde. That means she will protect her source of food at all costs. Barring that, we have Kuro, the Black Dragon that exudes literal death (and Nekoya is safe only because of the Red Dragon's protection). They're fine.

I remember barely anything about the first season, but the good(?) thing about slice-of-life anime is that you don't need to remember anything to enjoy it.
...Is that a good thing?
Anyways, I have no idea who the girl in the second half living with the protagonist is anymore.

Oh well.

Also, I think the protagonist looks... a little more... makeup-y? this season.

They should be fine.

They certainly weren't fine when siren's nearly killed them in the first season though. Which still covers the main question. How the heck wasn't that place swarmed with goblins? That the goblins wouldn't last very long isn't the point.

Just seems like good fortune the only people that have caused trouble besides the sirens are people that can be cowed by threatening to cut them off from their favorite food.

Plot twist: the goblins were perfectly civil regular customers before the new girl killed them all and took their door.

Best not to question it further otherwise like that one sandwich episode from last season, too much spice can ruin a meal. It's like what the master told Tiana (fruit crepe) last season, the door pretty much has a mind of its own and can appear wherever it pleases. Also beta, Aletta is staying with Sarah (Minced Meat Cutlet) though based on your reaction from the episode I'd bow out of the season now if I were you, it's just gonna get just as slice of life-like as it always has.

One of the things that made me watch s1 until the end, this time though I think we'll see more interactions with the customers introduced in s1 and that's enough for me to keep watching for now

The reason all goblins had "junk" instead of treasures was that all their valuables are used to pay for food

Kuro protects Nekoya from the inside, the Red Queen protects it from the outside. I would not be surprised if instinctual creatures feel an overwhelming aura of death emanating from the door, same as the more powerful guests recognize Kuro.

No one dares invade or monopolize it with the two of them involved. As with the lizard folk, most treat it with sacred reverence. Perhaps the goblins were too frightened to try and open the door.

episode 1:

really a relaxing anime. food show that sometimes has a bit of action, Hilda totally trashed those gobs - she should try joining Goblin Slayer's party. just kidding.

Hilda is so surprised to see some important people casually eating and talking.
food that is delicious and affordable helps people relax.

I also notice the Lion King now shares his table with the former Admiral. Well, they both eat a lot. lol

Sarah is lucky to have Aletta as her maid.

It didn't seem like garlic is fine at all, though. As for invitation, you could argue people are invited to restaurant by default as long as they willing order food.

Nah.
A scary world when vampires get to reason their way into a building because they think something symbolizes invitation. Next they'll reason why garlic isn't garlic, and why something isn't religious.
Let's just leave it at that the author didn't think that deep into vampire lore. I honestly don't remember the invitation part myself too often, it not for recently rewatching Shiki
