Ep.5
Nice ep. with good balance between SOL, plot progression and combat. I thought it would be Perrine-focused episode so I was really surprised to see Yoshika managed to fix her problem in this episode. Good thing that they did it early. Oh, Yes! Tank driving in my Strike Witches!!!

Series is still going strong, and I'm thinking we'll certainly see them at some point before the actual Berlin liberation. This fifth episode had plenty going for it, and I'm sure that even without Eila and Sanya in the sixth, it'll be a fun episode

I'm actually not looking forwards to that. Instead of burning an episode on fanservice, they could've stepped it in a different direction and continue with the character-driven episodes, giving us one more episode in Berlin.

I think that was legitimately one of the better fights in the whole franchise. That felt intense at times. That was one case where the enemy was downright frightening to deal with and helps make a point as to why things were as bleak as they were at the start of S1. That was a pretty monstrous enemy that required Trude pushing herself to the absolute limit both in terms of physical conditioning and seeking out Shirley's help in making this rescue possible.
Some solid effort by Hartmann as well to stay safe while in enemy territory. And certainly had to push herself in order to avoid Trude self-destructing out of grief. Shows her own ability that she could get into attacking position on one striker and actually deliver a strong hit at the same time. Was a nice chance to further establish the strong relationship they have. Next week does seem mostly a 'eh it's fanservice episode time'. Hopefully we can get a focus episode before we leap into the climax of the season for Sanya and Eila.

You know, they cannot break traditionbs here. Every season of Strike Witches had ep. 7 as a fanservice filler. They still have enough time to focus on remaining characters and cover the Karlsland liberation.

It's nice to finally get an episode about these two that doesn't bank on Erica being a slacker slob and Trude being a total hardass. I like how the season show's Trude's more caring and softer side, while showing that Erica is capable outside a fight and can actually survive in a situation you'd think someone like her would be totally screwed in.
Also you know someone's your best friend when they get themselves completely jacked in two days just to rescue you.
