Doubt it. If the Mera Mera no MI was really that important to invade the capital of the Celestial Dragons for, he would have gone to Dressrosa earlier.

Like let’s put it this way. Im and the Tenryuubito made an attempt on Cobra and Vivis life. They killed Cobra but Sabo got involved and killed a Tenryuubito to save Vivi. Then he was forced to run away with her. Now rather than admit the truth, the wg placed all the blame on Sabo for the killing of Cobra. The suppression order they knew would be ignored so they sent it to make it seem like their version is the real version of events.

most fake news anyway, from what we know :
- Sabo is involved
- An attempt at assination
- it related to Alabasta
- WG want to cover it up

Frankly even the death is somewhat dubious in my eyes consider the word come from the mouth of that bird. from other's reaction though, seem like an assasination attempt is confirmed, likely done by WG or they are heavily involved in to the point that they want to cover it up rather than just blame it all on Sabo and RA. I'd be thinking somewhere of the fake news is along the lines of Sabo being on WG side and try to assasinate someone from alabasta Or WG try to assasinate someone from alabasta and Sabo try to protect them only to either get captured or killed

Even if someone is dead, I doubt it's Sabo. I don't think he'd merit for an obituary in "common people" newspaper. Vivi or Cobra made more sense considering them being royal family.

Yeah, the Vivre Card databook confirmed Morgans is an albatross Zoan (yet ironically, he still can't fly on his own....). Another interesting thing to note is that he was the one who invented the "news coo" system (those birds that deliver the papers, that is). Say what you will about his occasionally dubious scoops, but you can't deny the man is passionate about his line of work....

Things are really shaping up towards the One Piece Stampede movie. It would have to be canon after seeing the events in this chapter.

Really not a fan of how Oda showed the entire world freaking out over some big news, but didn't tell us, the readers, what they are. At least the Shichibukai aren't a thing anymore, that's one plotline wrapped up.

this means that all the pirates have legal reason to join up with Luffy from now on
since most of them are holding up because of their alliance with Marine Navy

Characters from the movies written by Oda are canon but not the events since they can't fit into the continuity.
