We really went the extreme route here. Iroha is alive, but also kind of died off with her memories. Although I totally agree that they'll power of love them back in the last episode. Either way Tsutsui has had a rough go of it. Just going through his life on his own power. He's getting things done and living effectively. No one can say he's thrown in the towel on his life or anything. He's just kind of miserable under the surface. And certainly he hasn't moved on as evidenced by ignoring any passes sent his way by female coworkers.

But we're certainly set for things to get intense with what time remains. And yeah...Iroha's 'not blood related' sibling. As if we needed any more reasons to dislike that jerk. They could kick that guy off a bridge and I'd just applaud.

I have to question the logic behind treating her amnesia by completely uprooting her and putting her in a new place with new people.

And the cruelty of not even telling her boyfriend that she survived even if she lost her memories.

But Los Angeles weather though... also L.A. doctors.

Not that it was that meaningful but IIRC the anime actually skipped a scene immediately after she woke up from surgery.

If the ED means anything then we can hope for a happy ending.

What was even the point of having Ayado and Ito break up?

Because... yeah. I think it was basically to handwave away anything that might have been weird between Ayado and Tsutsun after Iroha went away. First love and all. She had been off camera/panel for a while now.

I don't know. When it was going on I thought "oh ok, they want to make a point that not every high school romance is going to work out." And the moment I was thinking that...Ayado says she divorced whoever this other guy was . Wow...I'm really glad they bothered establishing she married someone else. And she seems really broken up about that marriage falling apart with how she's warming back up to Ito.

Anyways everything worked out more or less as expected. Power of love revived her memories and the main couple are back together again. Everything ends with the main cast pretty darn happy. Which I'm kind of fine with since you might as well end this sort of show on a positive note.

Ayado's story was honestly the weak point imo for the second season.

Still, the second season turned out to be pretty faithful especially in these final few episodes. They even adapted the colored image of all the characters together in the end. And of course, Iroha got her memories back with Tsutsui in a happy ending.

I think the show is fine overall, nothing groundbreaking but managed to stay true to its story throughout its run.

Finally watched the last three episodes, and while there were plenty of cliches, I'm mostly happy with this ending. Yeah, they tried to throw in a bit of realism by having Ito and Ayado break up, but then broke it when she shows up divorced, and Ito is waiting and willing. :P Oh, well, I'm not mad at him.

I still don't care for Takanashi, but I'm glad Ishino is happy. She looked really pretty in her wedding outfit. And that blushing bride kick she did to Ito while pregnant...xD.

Tsutsui matured nicely, but still feels like himself, well they all did for that matter. And it was nice to see him doing well for himself.

Iroha having to move away, and even stay away for a high stacks surgery is pretty plausible. I've certainly read plenty of real life accounts where families had to move to other states and sometimes other countries to get sometimes new or experimental treatments or care. Sometimes there's just better care elsewhere. And then there would be the after care she would need.

All in all I really enjoyed the anime.

That was a weird little rollercoaster ride. It was bothering me that they weren't even mentioning Ayado after the timeskip, but after they said she got married to someone else, I think the author should have committed to that unexpected bit of realism instead of bringing her back so that Ito could have another shot with her.

Yeah. If the author wanted to avoid it being a bummer, she could have just had them happily married to different people. What she did does neither character any service.

Ito's relationship at the end should have been handled a little better (maybe cut some time off of the front in order to flesh out the back end). Aside from that I really enjoyed this anime, and I'm glad I watched it. Time well spent.
