I checked this a while ago and at that point it's still MC doing trial and error and stuffs, no romance so far, so put it off for another few months

Read through the translations a bit but stopped eventually, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Found it rather lacking in most fronts (humor, characters, plot, etc.)

There's repeated joking about how the main character's standards don't match the current world's low one. If you don't mind that joke repeated continuously then it's okay. I'm still reading it, but it's not one of my favorites. I'm only reading it when I run out of other things to read.

I've been reading more raws lately because a lot of the stories I was reading stopped being translated (or are stalled). Some stories machine translate a lot worse than others (such as Instant Death).

^ Yep. Well, I am also reading this but I have little to say about it. On the bright side, there is nothing striking bad about it and it gets frequent updates. On the dark side, it is pretty mediocre in everything, the MC is generally pulling every solution out from his... past abilities and the updates are pretty minimal (like Monster Breeder and such, though not reading that one anymore).

Well...at least with this story they don't keep telling him how amazing he is. Usually they just tell him that what he said doesn't make sense (or common sense).

Magi's Grandson wore me out with that "amazing" joke stuff.

I read it 2-3 month ago.. and I has to agree it that it kind mediocre.
MC clearly show a shit ton of abnormality when it come to magic/fighting proficiency, unknown knowledge and legendary technique
but no one point out to him how he might be the legendary sage. The common sense thing prevent them perhaps?

This story is like
- MC do some shocking beyond common sense thing and show how powerful he is
- do some rpg game stuff (Which MC also broke common sense in this world to bit )
- beat some arrogant small fry and monster which lead me to believe that either the world threat is low from the start or MC and past human is just that powerful
- no major antagonist for now? since the legendary sage already proven to best absolute strongest in his past life even tho he got "Early fast grow but Late slow" kind of Crest

It fun read if you didn't mind simple story, it not great but not bad either

Comparing this to Magi's Grandson, which one is better in your opinion ? The only common thing they have is MC's common sense is different than the others, so which one you think is more entertaining to read ?

Magi's MC is more like a human child or teen. he has actual emotions in the matter that one can relate. The MC for this story is an old guy. Literally, I feel that its my grandad when he explains things to the others. Its not exciting even if his smiling but it feels that his just teaching his grandsons, the way of magic.

The only good side here is probably the battle and the characters, I like the characters here more than magi. While Magi has interesting and real life with each partner cast.

Here, there is no romance, well there are hints from the translated ones, crushes and such but its more of focus on getting stronger and dealing with the enemies. pretty straight forward story.

I see. So, considering that this MC has a party of only girls in a haremy setting with no progress in romance, this seems like your common Light Novel harem story where the MC is surrounded by only girls with him not choosing anyone to fall in love with, right ?

If so, then not my cup of tea, as I prefer stories where romance is involved with the MC choosing a girl in the story, like both Grandson and the currently airing anime, Darling in the Franxx.
