I'm sure I'm not the first person to complain that there isn't a Setsuna x Feldt option in the poll and I hope I wont be the last.

The poll thread was created when that pairing wasn't even a thing, and did you seriously necro a thread just to complain?

This thread was created on November 2008, a few months after Season 2 started airing. Setsuna x Feldt wasn't as a concept wasn't even a thing in the show until the last two episodes, that places it in February or March 2009.

Setsuna's relationship with Marina seemed really strange to me. I remember that in season 1, Setsuna basically wanted her advices whereas in the first opening of season 2 the two appear to be wanting to embrace. Then there is that funny scene where a girl asks these two "Are you two lovers?" whiich resulted in these two responded "No" in a really monotonic way.

Still, I heard the Gundam 00 manga about the movie ends with these two in a more romantic way.

Prequel manga of Trailblazers drawn by Yun Kouga already explained it.

At Setsuna last visit to Marina, they are talking about how Setsuna became enemy of the world for the world peace he dreamed for and he doesn't want her to get involved further in process as he respect her well-being as someone who had same dream with him. When Setsuna is about to leaving, Marina told him that if he ever looking for a place to return after their dream come true, he can always back to Azadistan as she will always be there, waiting for him, reassuring Setsuna that he does have a place as well as someone to return, clearing doubt on his mind.

Hence the movie ending shown Setsuna visits Marina who still lived in Azadistan ...

Personally, I myself not surprised with their flat "Nope" answer when teased by those children.
They are serious person by nature, expecting them to go all blushed and "No! No! No!" like usual anime teenager or replying with "Man! You're right!" like what Patrick will said when he's proud of his love interest is so out of character.
