Gil is golden boy of fate series, his ego is extremely extreme the only woman he has feeling to known was Saber and him only close to genderless Enkidu.
Plus to ship GilxIllya would be awkward when you think what Gil had done to Illya in UBW.
I can't see how romantic interest could canonically happen between them, on otherhand JulianxIllya might can happen because Illya seem has sympathy to Julian motive and it has been implied Julian is not totally bad guy.

No they are not. They might live in different circumstances but they are same people.

That is ESPECIALLY true for Gil sine he is a heroic spirit, thus there's nothing to indicate he is not the same one(since there's only one throne of heroes in multiverse and only one heroic spirit of each saved)

While Fate Extra implies that Servants like Archer and Lancer remember each other it is different as it isn't the Fuyuki grail system, based on the Moon Cell's own recordings.

Saber remembers the previous grail war due to her own unique circumstance. Archer well he is from an alternate reality.

The Fuyuki system basically summons copies from the Throne of Heroes as it is impossible for a magi to summon a true heroic spirit. This is why even if a Servant is summoned for several Holy Grail Wars they do not have memory of the previous one. Again Arturia is the exception.

draw from throne of heroes. It draws from Moon Cell records which pretty much is an alien creation that mimics akasha on scale of earth. They are close to how they would be in throne of heroes due to similar recording proccess but they are not FROM throne of heroes.

are not proper heroic spirit. Real Saber is summoned from her moment of death so she retains her memories, Archer is a counter guardian and while he does not remember each of his copies he did participate in the grail war that is happening in FSN and knows what is going on that way.

In case of normal heroic spirits, data in throne of heroes is copied onto a vessel and deleted after the vessel falls apart.
Either way - Heroic Spirits DO have access to information about what is happening in history since Throne of Heroes is outside space and time, unaffected by it. SO they can KNOW how their copies fared and what they did but it is not same as EXPERIENCING it. And the copies summoned are untainted by that knowledge. They gain knowledge of the era upon summoning.

Also saying "alternate reality " is not correct as a reason since Throne of Heroes exists as one for whole multiverse. Every heroic spirit in throne might be from different worlds, but there's only one spirit of each hero. That's why summoning

Archer Emiya was possible, even though he did not exist in the world he is summoned into.

A couple years ago, I thought Saber and Merlin would make a cameo in 3rei because Gil was in it. Besides, Merlin can still exist in this manga (even he's locked up in that tower). He has familiar that allows him to see and communicate in the outside world. I forgot what familiar's name was.

Even though it would make sense to introduce Ruler to this series, having a Saber and Merlin cameo wouldn't be bad. I made a lot jokes about conversations that Illya and Merlin would have.

Well, probably because that doujin is drawn by Hiroyama's assistant (yes, for real), who really likes Miyuverse Shirou.
