That's assuming he keep the series on watch after 1st season or read the novels(which he didn't) though.

To be fair I'm in the same boat- I enjoyed the first season, but never even thought to continue the series after it ended.

Awesome ED1 though, love all the Index parody that came from it

What about asking Teh Ping to translate it. If i remember right didn't he help translate Index once?
And if he wont what about the person who translate the Durarara novel?

Actually there is not just one translator for Durarara. There is Elkin who works with BT, but there are others who have their own blogs and just have some of their translations hosted on BT, like Popsiclette, anni_fiesta, cleopuffer, Pseudonym125, differentclouds and Houjisha.

So what you suggested would be an excellent solution if it was not for this:
The Drrr project is not very active on BT. And each of the translators is just working on some parts of Drrr. And the pace isn't that quick (at least not as quick as js06's translation for index). So the Drrr main volumes are not even fully translated yet... That's why I doubt any of the translators would accept to translate the side story while they are still working on the main.

Kinda sucks the DRRR side won't get translated as well but I suppose we'll get it when we get it. Thankfully the idea of Touma going against Shizuo of all people will be something that curbs the wait.

Unfortunately, it looks like this crossover isn't going to be translated anytime soon. Since I can't read the Japanese raws I've already given up on this one and the Killer Princess/Queen short stories. (The only translations I found online for both were chinese and I'm not desperate enough to try to do machine translations of them).

You can check these pages for japanese spoilers like I did: Kamachi Side, Narita Side.

I'll post them here for those that are interested. (Obligatory reminder that I'm just using Google Translate and trying to make sense of it. Expect a lot of mistakes)

Spoiler for Academy City - Kamachi Side:

Plot:
"When you exit the tunnel, there's Academy City."
Durarara characters enter Academy City through a mysterious tunnel. This is all possible because space-time is being distorted and allows travel between worlds.

But there's a great danger: a single-stage space transport aircraft called "Heavenly Garment Queen (Sky by Fire)"! Contrary to what it looks like, this machine is not something made by AC, it belongs to the Naritaverse. Specifically, it was built by a company called Nebula 50 years in the future, but the distortion has brought it to Index's world. Several dozen Tokiwadai students are inside (including Mikoto and Kuroko), and it threatens to crash into AC. The characters from both universes cooperate to stop the aircraft from crashing down.

Apparently Kamachi also referenced other Narita works like Baccano! and Vamp!.

Characters (These are the only ones listed on the page, there are others like Kadota, Walker, etc...):
Celty Sturluson: Our favorite Dullahan is acting as a courier carrying the elixir of immortality (from Baccano, I think?). She wanders into Academy City and gets involved in the "Heavenly Garment Queen" incident. She acts as the "common sense person", being "more human than the rest while not being a human" (she's a normal person, basically). She uses her shadows to slow down the aircraft.

Ryugamine Mikado: Wanders into AC, looks for the other Ikebukuro visitor in the net and collects gossip and urban legends.

Sonohara Anri: The host of the demon sword Saika, wanders into AC and is one of the people who help stop the "Heavenly Garment Queen". She meets Touma and Saika freaks out. Anri notes that while Saika has shown disgust towards some humans instead of its usual "love", this is the first time it shows fear.

Kamijou Touma: The crossover punching bag. No, really, refer to the list of things he survives that was posted earlier on the thread

. He runs around to gather the people of Durarara because the distortions will continue as long as they are not back to their own world. Has a rough encounter with Shizuo that leaves other Durarara characters surprised at his determination/endurance before he loses consciousness while still standing. Celty comments even she would be troubled by all Shizuo did to Touma (15 punches + various things thrown at him). This should tell you the insane endurance Touma has considering a Durarara street fighter and gang leader (Chikage) could only take 4 punches before being knocked out. I think she compares him to an immortal or a vampire in that regard, but I'm not 100% sure.

Heiwajima Shizuo: Wanders into AC because of Orihara Izaya. Has an encounter with Touma, and later Touma asks for his help with the airship. Shizuo demands a show of resolve by Touma. This obviously doesn't end that well for Touma, but Shizuo is convinced. He catches the airship with both hands once it comes to the ground (slowed by the others, of course).

Spoiler for Ikebukuro - Narita Side:

Plot:
"When you exit the tunnel, there's Ikebukuro"
The opposite from before, this time the Index characters enter Ikebukuro. The distortion that causes the crossover is mentioned to be because Othinus screwing over the phases in NT9 linked the two worlds (Durarara vol 13 was released the same day NT9 was). Nothing abnormal has been caused in Ikebukuro by the distortion. The page also mentiong Objective Alice from A Simple Series.

The story here is Izaya making contact with Index world, starting from the bottom with urban legends and reaching people like media mogul Olay Blueshake or Loki from Gremlin. Loki and Izaya kind of "become friends", fully expecting the other one's betrayal. Jormungand and Hel from Gremlin also appear to cross over to Ikebukuro. Izaya impersonates one of the members of the Board of Directors and convinces Accelerator that Shizuo is a threat to the Misakas because of the distortion and that Shizuo needs to be killed. The fight between Accelerator and Shizuo ensues, and Celty manages to save Shizuo and stop Accel.

Characters (Same as before, this are the only ones in the page):
Orihara Izaya: The information broker is the one that causes the fight between Accel and Shizuo. He apparently tried to discover the true identiy of Aogami but failed when he tried to access his school records. Uiharu is mentioned, so she might have blocked him, who knows. Not even the members of the Board of Director can access his information.

Accelerator: Accelerator is tricked into attacking Shizuo by Izaya. Accel is obviously Shizuo's worst possible enemy (since Shizuo can't do anything against him). His attempt at launching a vending machine is thwarted by Reflect, Shizuo punches it back to Accel only for it to be reflected again... He is ultimately stopped by Celty's shadows.

Heiwajima Shizuo: He's targeted by Accel because of Izaya's manipulations. He can't do anything to Accel but manages to survive long enough for Celty to save him. Accel's attempt to reverse his blood flow fails (it only makes Shizuo dizzy). Accel says that while he has only seen data of it, it seems similar to the #7's mysterious body that's beyond normal humans (Gunha). After the fight I think he goes after Izaya.

Celty Sturluson: Celty intervenes in the fight to help her friend Shizuo. She manages to use her powers to capture Accel in a shadow sphere. Celty's plan was suffocating Accel before he got out of the shadow sphere, but he ripped the shadows with his wings. Her shadows seem to be able to beat Accel's reflection.

Walker & Karisawa: In charge of 4th wall breaking as actual readers of the Index series. They talk to Touma and I think they showed him the Index novels. They stopped him from reading OT1 and tried to encourage him and comfort him about his memory loss.

Kamijou Touma & Tsuchimikado Motoharu: Unlike Accel who came to Ikebukuro with a purpose, the Delta Force enters the city in for fun and they meet Walker and Karisawa, who question Touma about the battle with Gremlin and his "honeymoon in Denmark"

Aogami Pierce: Came to Ikebukuro with the other two members of the Delta Force. Izaya can't stand not being able to know his real name. Aogami's attempt to say it is inmediately interrupted

Izaya is often the mastermind behind incidents, meaning he knows quite a deal about all people involved. Not knowing something so simple would irk him. He enjoys being a manipulative mastermind, by the way, so it'd most likely be a personal thing to him.

He can't find out anything about Aogami, not even what should be the most basic information, so it probably bothers him a lot.

There is another side story, one where Index and Touma run away froma jaguar got was running wild.

Index offered an apple as a sign of peace.

Do you remember the image about Index with an biten apple for the 10th anniversary? That is.
