Form the Council

The Council having receive certain information indicating several members of Fairy Tail being involve with the Zeref Death Cult. The Council authorize a member of the Council security forces to infiltrate Fairy Tail to investigate if there is any truth to these rumors.

During the investigation, the Council was able to determined that Fairy Tail and Grimorie Heart were allies and both guides were a part of the Zeref Death Cult and that Zeref himself was located on Fairy Tail island which protected him form discovery while he gather his strength.

The council force sent to investigate Fairy Tail Island was a able to repel a attack by both FT and GH but the ship was damage and was force to withdrawal but not before deal considerable damage to both FT and GH.

Orders have been sent out to detain and arrest any past and current members of Fairy Tail. Lethal force is authorize if members of Fairy Resist.
The thing is, that goes far beyond "use this as an excuse to disband the guild" and onto outright framing Fairy Tail for things it didn't do, as well as attempt to imprison/kill them despite their innocence. Which assumes a lot more evil on the council's part than they've actively displayed. It also assumes that they're happy with things like "Zeref is alive!" or "Dragon of the Apocalypse!" getting out to the general public.

While still entirely possible, given that they likely have means of proving if someone is telling the truth, it would not stand up when brought to trial. Particularly as their own troops aren't blindly on board with the council's attempts to make itself look better and they'd know the truth that they did nothing.

All told in the long run something that audacious and sloppily executed would come back to bite them in the ass and pretty much ensure their permanent ruination. They'd be much better off scapegoating Mest for their failures, giving Fairy Tail a pass, and sweeping the whole thing under the rug as best they can.

Here's to me hoping the Council goes the Edolas route: "All guilds are forbidden!"

That and I still can't get the image of the kid watching the sea, a few chapters back, out of my mind.

Hm, the sea...

Here's hoping Ultear doesn't save all of FT with that little boat.

Aditionaly, even in One Piece people die.

Apocalypses tend to be hard to hide. I'm going to laugh if they're actually going to try.

Because a death would add much needed tension to future battles. I mean, we basically know the outcome of every major battle. And if we don't, we at least know, that the FT members won't die. If Mashima would kill off at least one developed character, it would add a feeling of urgency to other fights, so that we can't be sure whether or not Elfman, Gray, Erza or others will really survive big baddies. Yes, there have been other mangas that have gone a similar route, and they all did it wrong in my opinion.

Eh. That Dragon's been around for a while, and he's not that well known. Sure, he's been summoned to the island. But there's not telling what he'll do once he's done there.

Disappointed... yet intrigued. I'm a big fan of grand finales for characters, and this could have been a great one for Makarov, so I'm disappointed they didn't pull through. At the same time, I'm intrigued what they're planning with the timeskip.

Speculation time! Mysterious girl? I say the spirit of Mavis. Nobody said master Mavis was a guy after all.
