But if you can be patient, Higurashi is a very rewarding story... Well, it all depends on how well the anime can pull it off though. |

Spoiler for the boring explanation:
Like you, I'm not really into horror movies and such. If the story / artwork continued as it was for the first 30 seconds of this episode then it would be unlikely I would have watched anymore. It was the fact there's a strangle blend of comedy along with the "little" hints that the situation isn't as normal as it appears that has enticed me to continue. |

I know this is not the right place to ask this, but I'm terrified of posting in any of the game/general/questions threads, because they all tend to have spoilers, and I don't want to risk being spoiled.
My question is: What kind of game is Higurashi? How do you play it? Is it a choose-your-own-adventure kind of game? On an on-topic note: I love episode 1! |

To answer your question: 1. It's technically not a game but more of a book with music and sounds. 2. Click and read. 3. On the PS2 port, yes. |

I'm finally checking out this series, this first episode was pretty cool. I liked the girls' expressions during the Old Maid game. Rena's voice shifts were kinda freaky. I like the opening song as well, I'll definitely have to acquire it.

Glad you liked it. Just for reference, are you listening to the dub or the sub? If you're listening to the dub, are you watching from a disc or streaming off the Funimation site?

I like the voices, I just thought her voice shift from cute to psycho was kinda freaky. I figure I'll be able to pay attention to the story more, I tend to miss the fine details on shows when I watched subbed shows. I suppose when I watch the other series that aren't dubbed yet I might have to watch episodes more then once.
