Fullmetal Alchemist Light Novels

Hi!
I just joined this forum like, 2 minutes ago. And the first thing I wanted to post were two questions about the Fullmetal Alchemist light novels (English).

1. If I read the Fullmetal Alchemist light novels before I've finished the actual manga, will the novels give away any key points that happened in the manga? Like will the novels ruin any surprises?

2. Would you even reccommend the light novels?

Thanks alot!

Er, look under the retired forums section. The FMA threads are there. It's semi-active.

As far as I know, the novels are alternate interpretations of the series.

Acturally I do not believe FMA has light novels and if it does, i am sure the story would not be following the main story of its original comics. Recommond strongly you fininsh comics upto lastest or follow amimations every week.

Fullmetal Alchemist does have light novels they are side stories that take place for the most part before the events of the series but after the events of the human transmutation.

They are not written by Hiromu Arakawa but by a guy named Makoto Inoue. However Arakawa does illustrations for them.

They are not really canon but they don't mess with the events of canon either since the author has meetings with Hiromu Arakawa to make sure his plot points won't contradict with anything in Arakawa's story.

Anyways the 1st story is the story of the Tringham Brothers which is where the 1st anime got that story from (although it was slightly altered).

I'll give these a check out sometime soon. Will probably start with the second book seeing as though the first book was already animated.

Third book sounds quite interesting.
