Well, she's currently considered as the main heroine of the latest gundam show, fans tend to vote for those type of characters. I'm sure if Feldt or even Sumeragi is the main heroine instead of Marina, either of the two will get more votes than her.

Remember Relena of Gundam W? She was also popular back then even though she was useless until later in the show.

I know for a fact i didn't vote for Marina just because she's a main character. Is anyone even that shallow to do so?

I voted for her because i adore her character design, and i like her position in the show. She just need to do anything spectacular to win the fans.

Well.. that's your opinion. I know Marina hasn't done anything at all, but from the latest ep (ep 10) when Shirin basically told her to "suck it up and fight along side her" Marina is going to start growing as a character and as a woman. She is finally going to understand why Setsuna says he needs to fight to make a difference.

I like characters like Marina, they start off very weak but then they start growing.. and I don't mean weak for 4 eps and then all of a sudden they are super woman. =/

And Lacus is a Mary Sue incarnate (literally, because Morwosa admitted to basing her off her idea of herself), and look how she turned out with the fanbase.

(No, I don't understand why Marina is popular, but then she's more realistic figure of the poster-child young female politician than Lacus.)

I really didn't like lacus clyne, She was like a godess. Almost every words of her brought changes and manipulation on people's mind. She keeped on speaking peace and poetric and hatred and war quotations which causes a huge wave in the world when all she has is beauty and beautiful voice. I mean, how could a young girl like her, innocent and naive on politics and diplomacy suddenly turning as the godess.
