Armored Core vs Mobile Suit

Like the title says. Which one, in your opinion is better? Who would win?

haha well from what little experience i got from the Mobile Suit gaming world, i'm gonna go with Mobile Suits.

Gundam would win because everything defies logic. You have god-like pilots and impossible Mechs.

How about if we just chuck Seed logic out and stop saying they all have god like pilots and that every unit is like the ones in Seed, that is one series. Let's go at this from a Mobile Suit Gundam standpoint as that series is the most equivalent to Armored Core in terms of unit capability (The Zaku, Guncannon or Gelgoog is certainly not an impossible mech anymore so than an armored core). Then things are more even. Even at this point I still think Mobile Suits are more maneuverable and would have the edge, but at least we have some degree of fairness and aren't using the topic as another reason to bash Seed Destiny as if it's logic were equivelant to the rest of the franchises.

Just to add a flipside, to me it looks like Armored Cores are more customizable so given the right equipment you could design one to beat a Mobile Suit.

what do you mean, like the games? If you're talking about the games, then AC is a lot better than the sup-par Gundam games Bandai-Namco have been releasing

Ooops... Posted a thread, but forgot to include my opinion. I think that the AC would win almost any Mobile Suit (Except Victory Gundam, If I'm correct.)

1. AC is a lot faster than a Mobile Suit. (capable of reaching about 900 km/h with the overboost function)
2. Don't know about MS, but AC heavily relies on ECM and ECCM, which can leave them almost invisible to the enemy sensors.
3. From the intros, I have seen ACs taking several hits, yet still moving.
4. While ACs don't have prolonged flight abilities (except those in AC4), their ability to quickly skid across the ground or water at high speed would outmatch any MS in terms of agility.
5. Most of their weapons are quickly deployable.
6. Also, their weapons can inflict large amount of heat, which adds more trouble than just the damage to the receiver.

1. Strike Freedom, F91 , Destiny and Z-Gundam are all faster than AC's. The Freedom and Strike Freedom Have far superior maneuverability thanks to HiMAT

2.Newtypes, Who needs sensors when you can sense the enemy.

4.Uhmmm... Read Strike-Freedom MG manual. It says that the acceleration and maneuverability attained by the Voiture Lumière coupled with the HiMAT cannot be sustained by a normal human being. In other words, It surpasses maneuvers that sustain 10G.

5. Talk to me when it could hit V2 Gundam, HiNu or Strike-Freedom.

the thing i can say is that 1 fully equiped AC is equal to a standard MS like the zaku or the GM

I may be a Gundam fan, but I'm a Raven first and foremost. And ACs have what I'm looking for in a mecha, not the overpowered crap that Gundams today are proud of. This is why 08th MS Team is still one of my favorite Gundam series along with 0083. There's just a certain..."grittiness" to Armored Cores that Gundam doesn't have anymore.

how laughable!! AC has Human Plus and ofcourse OP-I.

btw, newtypes can't sense enemies. they can only sense other newtypes. And a newtype still needs sensors, because a MS does not have windows to look out of as in a car. All screens in a MS are driven by camera-sensors.

Have fun using the electronic countermeasures on your ACs, because obviously all the effects of it will be blocked by Minovsky drive and whatnot. In fact, normal radars won't work on areas with high Minovsky particles and whatnot concentration.
