Sankaku Complex can't load images
I know that the site is up, and that its image server sankakustatic is up, but for some reason my browsers, neither Firefox nor Chrome, can load images. Yet the site works perfectly fine at my work computer (but it is unwise to view that site there for obvious reasons).
I've already cleared my cache, run CCleaner, cleared the DNS (even though DNS Server service is usually off), even tried turning off SpywareBlaster. Is there anything else that I can do?

I'm not sure what the issue is that they're experiencing, but I am also unable to load the page as of a few days ago.
I have discovered that it loads just fine when I use a proxy server from Brazil, though. I don't know why I have to do this, as other people are still able to connect to the page even though they live in the US, so it's obviously not a region block. |

It *sounds* like someone at Sankaku utterly mucked up their "incoming browser" configuration code so that Mozilla browsers don't get a proper response. The problem isn't on the client end.
If you're running Opera, try changing the type of browser Opera presents itself as (i.e. you can set it to identify itself as any of the competing browsers) and see what happens. I'll leave the actual detective work to someone else, meh.

The site loads fine for me, including all images in recent blog posts.
I'm thinking the problem might have something to do with a recent DNS change, possibly due to the outage this weekend (afaik the whole site was down on Sunday). The other possibility is that they had a DoS attack on Sunday, and went a little over-zealous with IP bans, causing (parts of) the site not to load for some people. Edit: Actually, the problem might be DNS issues related to their recent outage. It seems they're running the DNS servers for the site on the same server as the site. Which means that once that server goes down, DNS servers for their site go down completely as well. This typically is pretty bad (see warnings here: http://intodns.com/sankakucomplex.com ). |
