Anime Saimoe Tournament 2009 (Japan)
This thread has been opened specifically for the coverage of the Anime Saimoe Tournament 2009 organized by 2ch in Japan.
The Anime Saimoe Tournament is an annual festival of anime characters competing to be the most MOE. The official Saimoe 2009 page is: http://saimoe2009.tonkotsu.jp/ At this time there is no English translation for this page, but if you want you can use google's translation (formatted for firefox): saimoe2009.tonkotsu.jp - English/ Once again, there is a Saimoe 2009 Wikispaces page. It should contain information that will be a valuable resource for voting in Saimoe. The rules and principles of Saimoe are explained on the Wiki page. The following are the rules for this particular thread. These have been in effect for the past 2 or 3 Saimoe Tournaments and are generally well known amongst the veterans. Quote:

Thank you for creating this year's Anime Saimoe thread. Now I'm so busy that I still can't fully :read Anime Saimoe management threads in 2ch and may not be able to translate all the character's name. I will let you know something when I catch up on Anime Saimoe threads in 2ch.

Because of the time difference, we have to start voting a half day ahead of the Japanese, right?
And sorry if I sound noobish, but what's Srsfkgbsns? I just noticed that despite their popularity, none of Haruhi and the gang have ever hit even finals in Saimoe. Ironic. |

Nice, and it starts again. I probably won't follow it as closely this year and only do recaps for each round since I'm busy with other stuff. However, this is going to be fun to see and try to guess results.
The thing about any moe tournament is it's not always about who is most popular, but a balance of popularity and not attracting hate/revenge votes, as much as I would like it not to be. I guess that's what makes it interesting (and results in winners like Rika). Good times. Here's to another fun year.

I wonder if this is the entry list thread for Saimoe 2009 - http://changi.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/vote/1244553981/
Saimoe 2009 Chinese wiki site - http://www32.atwiki.jp/saimoe/ Saimoe 2009 @wiki - http://www7.atwiki.jp/saimoe09/ Since the main site haven't fully up yet,so i guess they still haven't conduct the character nomination part yet.. |

Did you guys see Newtype's poll for fav Female character for the spring 09 season? It reveals:
http://i445.photobucket.com/albums/q...4640210467.jpg #1 Nagato Yuki - 294 #2 Ayikama Mio - 291 #3 Suzumiya Haruhi - 212 #3 Hirasawa Yui - 212 #5 Katsura Hinagiku - 188 #6 Lisa Hawkeye - 129 #7 Alice (Pandora) - 98 #8 Alicia (valkrya) - 81 #9 Kuniko (Shangri la) - 63 #10 Nagi (HnG) - 54 This should give a small foreshadowing at whos hot in japan right now. This year will be a fierce battle of K-ON vs Haruhi IMO

This year's SaiMoe would be one of the best SaiMoe ever since most of the powerhouse MOE from the past SaiMoe (2006 "Goddess",2007 "Pink Knight", and 2008 "Thigh Queen") are back with new contenders.
I hope all powerhouse are in separate brackets. |
