PsYЯEN (Psyren)

It's not easy to come up with a synopsis for this series, so I will just copy it from mangaupdates:

Quote:
Yoshina Ageha is a high school student who offers to help people with their problems for 10,000 yen. He'll take care of your stalkers, find your lost animal, whatever you want. One day when he's heading home, a nearby pay phone rings, and he picks it up. The only thing he hears however is his own voice echoing. After finding a mysterious card with the word 'Psyren' printed on it, his life suddenly changes as he is drawn into a crazy new world.

Genre: Shounen, Adventure

Author: Iwashiro Toshiaki

This one looks to have a lot of potential.

Errr... forgot to make the title all caps. If a mod sees this, can you please do it for me?

I tried. I really tried a lot. It seems that if I try to make an ALL CAP title, the software automatically fixes it to capitalize only the first letter. I tried to change it to different titles. I discovered that as long as there is a single lowercase letter it won't bother me. Finally I concluded that refusing to accept ALL CAP titles is a safety feature I just cannot disable.

The attractive title seems to be PSYЯEN -サイレン-, I don't know if such a title with special characters would still create problem (MX0 uses a title like that and it seems to be working).

Thanks. Tried it. vB doesn't like it. I've decided to leave the "s" lowercase since it just looks like a small uppercase "S". It actually seems to provide some aethetic balance to the reversed "Я".

Ch. 4:

Spoiler:

This series has a surprisingly small cast considering its nature, I thought it would be like Mirai Nikki having 10+ people, but right now, it seems there are only 4 survivors.

Caught up to the scans (chapter 12) and I'm really enjoying this, wonder how long until they reveal his sister is also an ex drifter, I'll be astounded if that doesn't happen. Also Amamiya = <3

gantz meets bleach... 9 months later psyren was born.
that s the feeling i m getting from this manga, nothing spectacular, no high expectations, nice to kill time while waiting for the shower to become free.

lol it's not that bad. It's not any worse than most of the shounen manga out there. The art is relatively good, and the story moves pretty fast. This one actually reminds me more of Mirai Nikki than Gantz or Bleach.

It may not be anything special atm but seriously not many of these manga/anime are at first. Rurouni Kenshin was just average until the Kyoto arc, same with Bleach until the Soul Society arc started etc. I really can't recall a shonen anime/manga like this that starts with a real bang since the start is for character introductions.

Also I get that you see this like Gantz but you lost me with Bleach...

The drawing style of the characters in this reminds me a bit of Bleach's.

o_O. I never felt any Gantz vibes from this manga. I actually like it(Maybe because all of the characters are actually likable).

Same here. That's why I stopped reading.

It feels so boring and pointless and having mindless killing machines as enemies sucks.

The manga is like GANTZ gone softcore which really kills most of the fun.
