Congratulations to Ichiro the new Single season hit king
Congratulations to Ichiro Suzuki (That would be E-Churro to us in the states) For breaking Sisler's 84 year old record of 257 hits. As of 10-1 and 2 games left, Ichiro has 259 hits. This brings up an interesting question.
What would you say is more impressionable to the game of baseball? Ichiro Suzuki hitting 259(and still going) hits Or Ted William's, recently deceased.(er umm frozen...) season in which he Hit .406 in 1941 and putting him down in history as the last .400 hitter (White MLB) in major league history |

Uh, I guess you are asking which is the more impressive feat. I will have to go with Williams hitting .406 for a couple of reasons. First of all, Williams had better power than Ichiro, who relies on chopping the ball in the infield and running like hell. Secondly, Suzuki is also on the verge of setting the all-time single-season at-bats record, so it's not like he hasn't been out there a ton of times. But Suzuki is also the best bet at present to hit .400; maybe he will do it in the next couple of years.
