Image hosting sites
Not sure if this was posted before, but I'd like to recommend
www.imageshack.us Not only does it offer free, unlimited image space (though there is a maximum size for each image), it also gives you the convienience of putting the url in hyperlink/image form for you to copy and paste. |

Best image hosts?
I have been trying to put my pics on an image host and they are all fine but all of my pics are just to much for them to hold. generally 6mb +. is there anywhere that will host files this size for free / or how do I downsize them. They are hand drawn and scanned in. any Ideas?

Since it's hand drawn you could try DeviantART. For image editing, which includes resizing in your case, use IrfanView. IrfanView is one of the best, if not, free image editing programs. It calculates the ratio of the image height and width automatically so you only need to input one of those values and it will fill the other one in by itself. It will save high-quality .jpeg files as well. 6MB is really big, are those .bmp or .jpeg files?

Don't use imageshack for direct linking, i assume those files run through a queue for deletion. Use PhotoBucket or EZArchive for image hosting.

-> http://www.imageshack.us/ -> http://photobucket.com/ (you can also pay $25 a year for an upgraded account) -> http://www.flickr.com/ (storage plus blogging) If you're going to keep your blog for a while, you might want to look into a paid account for something like Photobucket.com. You at least have the ability to control the images, delete them if necessary and larger amounts of bandwidth then the standard free account. This site ... -> http://www.free-webhosts.com/free-image-hosting.php ...has a HUGE list of free image hosts. When you say you're using Wordpress, are you using a free account at Wordpress.com? Because you can load images to their server as well. Hope some of that helps. Cheers. |

Which Image Host can be used
There are hundrets of sites where you can uploade pictures like Avatars or Signatures but which are good, which can be used and which should not be used.
I am using PhotoBucket but I get sometimes problems with the filesize after downloading them from there but before uploading those files had a smaller filesize. Soooooooooooo which one do you use or could you approve, which cost nothing, which offer you unlimited space or really really much space, which do not change the files ... |

Yea, there's no shortage of free hosting sites. Hell, I even run one (http://vault.nischan.com) for my friends on another anime forum who wanted to host hentai pics but the provider he used to use kept deleting them hehe.

Yup yup but there are a lot of crapy sites out there.
I am searching for a site which has a few gigs space for every user or unlimited space, where I can login and manage my pics into folders and which hopefully does not delete my pics after some time. http://xs.to/ seems to manage the login with cookies or something like that and I do not like that since I delete every cookie on my pc from tiem to time, even the flash cookies. |

It's quite a good site, but it does cost quite some bandwidth, because it has too much graphics on the page and it also takes awhile to load the page up. Sometimes, you will get a glitch while uploading an image file, while results in wasting bandwidth and the only solution is to remove it and upload it again. This is also time-consuming! As for the good thing, it is free! |

Ahem...
www.imagehost.org ...me too. Animesuki.com is whitelisted btw, so bandwidth limits are unrestricted. |
