The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion

The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion is getting an anime adaptation

Plot:

Quote:
Poisoned to death by her own betrothed?! Eunha didn’t wake up in a novel’s story just to get killed off again as an unfortunate extra! To change her story she needs a cover… 6 months pretending to be the fake fiancée of the novel's male protagonist, Duke Noah Wynknight. But will this cold-hearted, angel-faced demon of a man really help her avoid another ill-fated ending?

Some people have pointed out that the MCs Korean name, Park Eunha, has been localised into the Japanese Hanasaki Rinko.

This follows the general trend of Korean webtoons getting heavily localised for the Japanese market, where Korean names and references get turned into Japanese ones instead.

I liked it.
Not a lot of monologues, just th needed amount to allow the show tell what is needed.

Also that Francis guys I fishy af. If Noveau Rich is McMillan's is clear that he's only after their money.

Animation looked painfully low budget but I'm definitely liking the premise. I've had mixed experiences with a lot of manhwa though so hopefully it holds up.

A pretty auburn-haired girl hungover and fighting back puke? Akane, is that you? Though Noah is quite a bit more complicated than Yamada .

Everyone sees Noah coming around and exchanging pleasantries with Raeliana with his silver tongue and assumes he and Raeli are getting chummy...but they're most just feeling each other out knowing what Raeli knows and what Raeli needs from Noah. That and she's even reading "how to write a contract for monkeys" just so she doesn't screw this up .

Wow, that talk with her family went way better than I was expecting! I thought they seemed like a loving and caring family, but even a match they set up themselves isn't a priority over their own daughters' happiness. It's enough to make Raeliana feel awful that they're so kind to her when on some level she's not their real daughter...though maybe she'll come to fully accept her new identity at some point .

So the Wynknight family has had the Royal Seal the whole time and is basically just leading the old nobility on? How devious. Though even that isn't enough to get Raeliana into Noah's good graces, but luckily it seems like she knows enough about the world of the book to be a political asset for Noah and help him move his chess pieces around...maybe even becoming one herself .

A 6-month fake engagement? That's more than enough time to get to know each other and genuinely fall in love, as is usually the case with that premise. And Rosemary's wish might come true afterall .

So Noah as a loyal knight in Adam, a stoic and serious fellow with piercing red eyes trained from childhood to be the ultimate soldier...and while he's not a conversationalist, he does have a caring side, and is a sucker for sweets. I think Raeli might have just won him over .

Rosemary is too cute for words! I hope she gets to visit her big sister often, though I wonder if even Noah would be immune to her charms .

So now we know why Raeliana ended up at the Duke's Mansion...the real question is how they're going to interact now, what Noah is going to do with her, what Francis' next move is, and how Raeliana will continue keep her head above water

I've observed that in nearly all Korean-written (and certain China-written) romance fantasies, the MC will almost always reincarnate or transmigrate into a world based on novels they read (as opposed to the Japanese and games). Whether a webnovel, published novel or a fanfiction piece, it's always a written work of some kind.

It's a little sad to see Raeliana leaving her family behind, even under the circumstances, especially Rose. Although it was so cute how Adam nodded to Rose when she asked him to take care of her sister .

Raeliana may have read the book of this universe and know all the details from it, but that doesn't mean she wanted to hear the extensive backstory of Noah's mansion, though I guess that was the first volley of Noah trying to keep her on her toes while she lives there. Just like him just casually sitting in her bedroom without her notice like it's the most natural thing in the world .

Raeliana and Noah are still feeling each other out and how to play out this fake engagement between them, keeping each other at a distance while having to work out exactly how others should perceive them and how they perceive each other. Which is basically just a more complicated process to get a on first name basis, but hey, whatever works! And while Raeliana is growing to dislike Noah more, it seems like Noah is becoming more and more charmed by Raeli, or at least he seems to enjoy her company .

Oh hey, Adam finally said something! "She's...strange." I mean, if that's a compliment coming from him, I'd take it .

Yeah...there's probably a lot to having the proper skills and etiquette of a bride to a future king. Aileen already had that all covered by the time of her series. Though Raeli isn't completely out-of-her-depth as a standard noble girl, though she also has the added bonus of a modern education .

I don't think Raeliana expected to have to make their engagement official so soon nor that she would get made ready by some effeminate and tall dude named Nick, but it turns Nick is a master stylist, fashion coordinator, and makeup artist who knows all that he needs to know to make a pretty girl like Raeli even prettier. Not to mention he and Raeli can commiserate over knowing how Noah is .

I love how the source of Raeliana's smile is shooting Francis in the head. Will she actually get to do so in real life? I hope so .

I thought that would be Raeliana's wedding dress, but either way she looks utterly stunning in it. She even managed to shock a silent, stoic, man speechless and entranced Noah so much that he for once can't say anything. She's going to be the most beautiful woman at that engagement party .

So what's this Vivian person's deal? She has wild red hair and is known in high society as a "Vixen," but will she be a help or a hindrance to Raeli? And what about that blonde dude at her mansion ?

"Why Raeliana took up the fight" - So I guess we are going to see some havoc at the engagement announcement that necessitates Raeliana's ripped dress and her wielding a gun .

Its easier to make a reverse harem with an isekai set within an otome game.

I'm kinda curious why Raeliana seems to be so good with guns. We'll see I suppose.

Raeliana and Noah make quite the handsome (fake) couple, although Noah is quite protective/possessive of her with his band of knights following them around at all times. Raeliana is starting to feel bad for the Main Heroine who is supposed to end up with him .

What a lovely dance that was! These two look very striking together on the dancer floor, and they even seem to enjoy it despite themselves, not that it stops them from sassing each other and trying to get one over on the other...like Raeli stepping her heel on Noah's foot or Noah outright dipping her! Man, the sexual tension and chemistry between these two is amazing .

Props to Marquess Eriteal for marrying such a cutie, even if she is much younger than him and thinking about him seems to depress her .

So Noah needs Raeliana to join an old noble wives club and see how much influence they actually have, and while Raeliana sticks her tongue at him she goes along with it because she knows he'll owe her for it...and hey, maybe she'll make some friends out of it? She and the Marquess' wife seem to get along well after her little orchestrated "incident" and subsequent talk .

Vivian Shamal is the true "Villainess" of the original novel, fulfilling all the classic cliche's of wanting the male lead, Noah, to herself (even though she's not even engaged to him) and going after the Heroine for it...but since she's not involved with Noah here, she turns her attention to Raeliana. I guess we can't always be lucky enough for the Villainss to either awaken her past life memories or be an adorable tsundere .

Vivian is all charm even if it's clear she's being condescending towards you and wants to hold the power in the dynamic, but Raeliana matches her blow for blow, which irks her to no end. Of course the real MVP is Nick who tags in and distracts Vivian with his incredible sass (even sneezing out that she's a bitch!) so she can hang out with Marquess Eriteal's wife! You go, Nick !

I know the sole female knight, Ansley, would be a more significant character. I love redheads in ponytails .

Things were going so well...so of course they get attacked and Raeliana gets kidnapped. Although it says a lot that the last person she thought of when she was being knocked out was Noah .

I like how Realiana doesn't just rely on her knowledge of the novel to maneuver her way through this thicket. She also can rely on her smarts. The conversation with Lady Vivian was a work of art. So well written, too.

I'm trying to figure out the answer to the question at the end. I can't see the Brooks family doing this just as revenge for her breaking off the engagement. What do they expect her to do? Marry the guy at swordpoint?

I don't see any other obvious villains unless Lady Vivian instigated it. A new source of trouble perhaps? Wonder if the kidnapping has a parallel in the novel, which would give Realiana a big advantage.

It seemed like the whole engagement was orchestrated by another group to begin with, and we know Raeliana ends up murdered in the original novel story, so I guess they're after her families money and need her gone somehow?

I don't think Vivian is involved, it seems way too soon after meeting Raeliana for the first time and she was never originally a target for her ire until she got engaged to Noah.

So Francis was a victim of his own greed, constantly using and leaving women for their money until one of them finally killed themselves over it...and their older brother naturally used it as an opportunity to make money off of Francis. And thus began the partnership of Francis and Jake to marry Raeliana, steal her money, and then kill her .

Raeliana tries to appeal to Jake to let her go and not dishonor her sisters' memory, but I don't think it's her perceived lack of protagonist status that failed her but Jake being motivated purely by money and not his sisters' death. I don't think he even really cared about his destitute mother that he gave Raeli a sob story about .

When all else fails, just say "I'm sorry" to protect your face .

See Raeliana run! Complete with a ripped dress (exposing her legs!), braided hair flowing in the wind, and less than sensible shoes! I'm actually surprised they didn't bound her hands because that probably would've made it easier to keep her from running .

Thank goodness Adam showed up! Only then Jake brings a frikkin' monster to try to kill both Adam and Raeliana. I thought this was just a relatively mundane Victorian era esque society, but suddenly there are monsters like in an RPG!? And Adam has magic too? Even Raeliana seemed to be caught by surprise by this development .

Raeliana understandably has some lingering trauma over falling to her death, but this time she's caught by Noah who drops the mask a little and seems genuinely anxious and worried about her, which is quite sweet. Pretty nice princess carry save .

I don't know what's better, Raeliana smugly mirroring Jake's neck slash to remind him he's screwed or grabbing Noah's gun to shoot at Francis and put the fear of God in him so she can work out all her emotional frustration. Can Raeliana keep the gun ?

Raeliana might still dislike Noah too much to enjoy the moment of riding double with him on a horse, but she's still grateful he came to her, and falls asleep next to him. Noah on his part is trying to fathom why he cares so much about this woman who is using him as much as he was using her, though his feelings are quite obvious at this point .

"I want you to get rid of them" - Um, I'm guessing Jake and Francis aren't going to make it back and will be swimming with the fishes? Noah doesn't mess around when someone touches his woman. At least it won't be on Raeliana's conscience .

All that drama and craziness and the next thing Raeliana knows she's waking up next to shirtless Noah. I guess that's more of a treat than anything .

"Why Raeliana Cosplayed" - Okay, this I have to see !

This episode left me fairly confused. If Jake really want money this whole forrest escapade make little sense. What he even hoped to accomplish? Kill Raeliana somewhere in forrest and then what? Or have nice talk and "convince" her to marry Brooks again? With Noah being duke I don't think coerced marriage could work. Maybe ransom? He woudn't have luxury of using those money anyway. Getting ransom for his family while he himself taking fall? I think that may be it?

He seemed kind of psychotic so I don't think he was thinking that far ahead.

I didn't expect the Brooks clan to be so stupid. Earlier I rejected the idea they were involved since trying to force Raeliana to marry Brooks at sword point seems ridiculous. I guess they didn't get the memo.

There are so many hilarious little parodies of shoujo memes. Noah waiting at the bottom of the cliff to catch Raeliana was my favorite.

Raeliana's gun-fighting skills are much better than she would have learned shooting skeet with the other nobles. For one thing, firing a handgun is very different than firing a rifle. Knowing how hard it is to own a gun in modern-day Japan, it's unlikely to be a skill she carried over from her prior life. So the Raeliana in this world must herself have already had mad gunnery skills arising from who knows where. I'm surprised guns exist at all given the overall environment.

So does magic and monsters. It's the full package Isekai .

I could see Raeli practicing with a gun to protect herself, knowing she was destined to die.
