I should be happy, and I am. But...
The manga jumped the shark recently in my opinion. It shouldn't matter for the anime, but it's still sad to see. Not sure how true it is that it got forced extension and the author initially planned for less, but if it's true, then it shows. Now give it to the Mob Psycho 100 team. New cast information
I always looked at Lance as "Hello, Genos", glad I was not the only one that thought it couldn't be any other than Ishikawa Kaito. |

In a world of magic and wonder, one young boy is dedicated solely to two things...getting swole and enjoying some cream puffs .
The Opening definitely fits with the epically hardcore (almost near parody) vibes of this show as Mash punches and cream puffs his way through this magic school along with his friends, admirers, and rivals . I kind of figured Regro wasn't Mash's biological dad considering he's old enough to be Mash's grandpa, but he loves him the same as any father would and Mash himself is a good and straightforward boy, albeit one who is very...direct and prone to trying to brute force literally everything in his way . The fact that the entire plot was set off by Mash going to town to get cream puffs amuses me to no end . You know it's a Harry Potter-esque magic setting when the newspapers have moving pictures . Katsuyuki Konishi as a bad guy? Didn't expect that. Brad is both our starter villain and even Mash's patron, getting him involved with the magical school with eyes on Mash either succeeding and achieving high honors (and Brad reaping the benefits for himself) or taking himself out. I just want to see Mash punch Brad's face in . Seems like this society of magic failed both Regro and Mash, Regro because he could never measure up to the high standards of a society that cares so much for the pomp and convenience of magic and Mash because he was abandoned for being magicless. I wonder if there's more to Mash being abandoned and why he has no magic though? Will we find out about his bio parents ? Mash deflects! Mash shirt rips! Mash juggles! Mash dribbles! And he shows the most effective use for a wand...is straight up throwing it ! So now Mash has to survive a school of magic, achieve the highest honor at said magic, and basically upend the whole magic society if he wants to live a peaceful life with his grandfather. At least Mash is definitely game for it . The ED is really cute! With the cast dancing and having fun! We also get to see our female lead, who is really cute and seems very dedicated and in love with Mash right down to having numerous pictures of him in her room and sleeping with a Mash plushie .

Not a bad start, albeit a bit too silly. Mash is okay; I'm not to fond of the dumber-than-dumb trope, but his humility balances it out somewhat. Also his aloof look and strength reminds me of OPM, so that's what I'm kinda expecting the most of of this show.

I guess even just standing around waiting for the magic entrance exam to begin is enough of an opportunity for Mash to just keep flexing and showing off his muscles...and sitting in an air chair, because of course he does .
So are Brad and Regro just going to follow Mash everywhere and try to act like they're not there so they can make sure he keeps the ruse up? Not that they're doing a great job of that . Ah yes, Claude is your classic character in this type of show, the arrogant and snotty instructor there to to be unlikeable and get knocked down several pegs by the MC . Mash is like the worst person to go to a magic school though, he just takes the fun out of it by calling out how ridiculous everything is. Though that is also hilarious . If someone is so OP with their muscles and fists, is it even really distinguishable from magic ? Mash meets the female lead! It's kind of funny how Reina Ueda is playing two blonde girls going to magic schools, though Lemon seems very different from Veronica. She seems like Ochako if she were in a magic school, being a cute girl out to get "in" because her family is poor, although she turned out to be way more underhanded then I expected (though not by her own choice) . I've heard that riddle a bunch of times, but in the end...who needs riddles when you can just punch through? And Mash is a good boy who can sympathize with people having their own problems like he does, even when they were trying to screw him over . Poor Mash was practically getting bullied into leaving the school...but luckily Lemon's honesty and his own muscles got him through . Dang, Lemon jumped straight to Mash wanting to marry her pretty quick with very little provocation . Look, it's anime Dumbledore! I mean, Wahlberg! Who seems like a really powerful mage, but he already takes a liking to Mash. He may be unconventional, but his strength of character makes him the perfect fit for this school . Mash is rooming with Reiji Kawashima! I mean, Finn! Who totally wants nothing to do with Mash because he sees that he's nothing but trouble, but Mash probably thinks their buddies now .
