Amazon's listing for the fifth compiled book volume of Ikumi Hino's Megami-ryō no Ryōbo-kun (Dorm Mother of the Goddess' Dorm) manga includes a cover image that states "it looks like an anime adaptation project is progressing." The volume will ship on May 26.

The story centers on 12-year-old boy Kōshi Nagumo, who finds himself homeless, penniless, and without relatives to care for him. As he lies on the street, he gets picked up to become the "dorm mother" of a dormitory full of troubled women's university students. Surrounded by idiosyncratic and difficult older women, Kōshi begins a "slightly ecchi new life."

Oneeshota is one of the big growth genres in the doujin world. In a way it’s surprising there aren’t more mainstream anime that try and exploit it, given how the one often tracks the other.

I'm surprised no one mentioned here that Sentai Filmworks licensed this anime, and HiDive is to simulcast the uncensored version. No word yet on an English dub, though.

Although the story itself is a basic harem story, there were a few problems:

-Being cheap and using people who aren't even Seiyuus to do some of the voices. Just because it is a cheap anime doesn't mean you should just not try to make it as good as it can be.

-Being Onee-shota, except the female characters in particular don't feel "Onee"-ish. Like, they have big breasts and that's really it. Nothing in their personality fulfills what makes Onee-shota good. Take a lesson from Sunohara-Sou.

-Them having the protagonist spout boring non-sense about common sense in this kind of anime is just boring. It can be assumed that the anime was trying to establish the protagonist as a good kid... But I couldn't care less.

So pretty meh. Probably should turn on the episode while reading the newspaper, and just turn your head when they have a bit of fanservice.

I didn't plan to watch this but............something in the first ep. have encouraged me to finish it.

That... wasn't bad at all.

You won't find the meaning of life in this one, but it is nowhere near as trashy as Ara Ara the Animation tends to be. The, ah, haremettes(?) are also fun and likeable and our boy ain't a generic doormat MC.

Overall, good enough to at least give it a few more episodes before deciding.

Fun fact: I actually wondered whether that had happened.
I mean, going by how she went on during the spar, I think her brother's already suffered the same fate

Taht being said:

7/10 for being an average, fanservice harem anime that wasn't really good in any way.
And then -2 because they were cheap and used VTubers as a couple of the characters' VAs (and what do you know, they weren't good!)

So 5/10

Also, just to note, but it sucks as an Onee-shota series too, because none of the characters give off an "Onee" atmosphere. None of them make me want to just snuggle in their laps or the sort. They are just older than the protagonist. Take a lesson from Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin, for example.

The fact that MC started to be obsessed with Athena hurt the show in my opinion, especially because it focused way too much on her and she's part of the reason the show lowered in fun factor.
