Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler Season 2 Anticipation

Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler is apparently getting a second season.

Yonkou is a very trustworthy user and source. We'll probably get a scan of this soon.

Strange, the series has not even debuted on NETFLIX yet.

Well colour me surprised, didnt actually think they would give it a second season at all, considering there isnt enough manga material for a new season.

I know that the anime ended with an original arc, but it doesnt negate at all the following arcs, so they could just pull a Blue Exorcist on this

They can use the source material from the prequal, aka Mary's manga story, especially the twin tail girl is the most popular girl in the manga. Also, the season one already made the reference to the prequal. For the original material, they can introduce Yumeko before she transferred to the school.

I was surprised about the second season, since I heard the sale was not satisfying.

By the way, I don't feel the live action tv show is doing the justice for the manga, while the anime did the fine job. It's not about the actors, because I think they look fine. Maybe they need to raise the budget to recreate the manga's feel.

Disk sales were bad but it gave significant bust to manga sales.

It being an adaptation in the first place means it was more advertisement than anything for its manga. The criteria was already different than a purely anime original.

Not really. Shows that can rely on Netfilx money are the exception. But generally disc sales are still really important.

Obviously netflix invested some money, since they bought the rights to streaming outside from Japan, but different devilman crybaby, kakegurui is not an original anime from netflix, just like inuyashiki is not from amazon. kakegurui was broadcast on several channels in Japan, they also have money invested, and there have been several anime broadcasts on netflix that have never been continued, and kakegurui has not even been aired on.

at the time it was broadcast, it must have made a profit for the production committee involved in some way, perhaps the related events and products were a success.

they are important but not the only determining factor, there are several article that talk about the other sources of profit that animes bring, as in events and streaming.

dagashi kashi and tokyo ghoul will have new season and sold very little in bd.

kakegurui recently won a live action series, which proves that it has popularity.

Only well established shows would have other sources of profit. New shows, specially anime originals, are heavily dependent on BD sales.

Kakegurui is an adaptation though. It most likely got a second season because the first season provided a significant boost of manga sales.

I did not deny this, Re: creators is considered a failure for example, and it is an original anime, but unfortunately I have not heard anything about the series having made profit in other ways besides BD. Recently Imouto Ireba increased the number of orders at a brewery in Hokkaido by 4 times, it would not be strange that this brewery would invest more in the series in a new season.

The fact is that to produce an anime, there is a large committee involved, just as anime makes profits in different ways,
