Akeno looked pretty damn cute imo this episode especially with her hair down. And not to mention, that kiss :>

Thoughts on the episode.

Spoiler for 5:

It's definitely rushed, and i don't like how they handle Fenrir. And for the first time since the start, the pacing is bad, i'm especially displeased on how they turn the entire Akeno development a subplot, bad move on that TNK. There's also the Mjolnir issue, Ise didn't face any trouble in using it, and from the current pace, Vritra doesn't seem to be awake, and Saji is in perfect control of his powers. Why? That was one of the things i'm looking forward to this season. >___>

And Kuroka, i'm disappointed with how TNK has handled her up till now, they're emphasizing on her love towards Shirone now that it feels a complete obsession rather than sisterly love.

I like how they handled introducing Grayfia and Millicas relationship. The spying on the date occurred well not like i expected but it still occurred. And the Akeno in this episode is 100% cute. Say otherwise and i'll shove a knife down your throat.

Sairaorg appearing was random, i mean very random. Even more random than Gleipnir suddenly being used. >___>

Overall, i'll give it 5.5/10 due to poor handling of Fenrir and Akeno's situation.

Spoiler for Episode 5:

Fenrir was nerfed in the same LN volume anyway, so that doesn't really bother me.

Akeno's development was rushed indeed, but I'll wait for subs to actually form an opinion about that.

They kept the girls spying on the date xD That was one of my favorite things from Volume 7, so I'm really happy about that.

Bilingual, the ultimate gentlemanly technique makes it's first appearence! And it was glorious!

The only thing that actually bothered me was how Ise was able to use Mjolnir without a problem. Maybe the subs will clear it up, but it's really weird.

Overall 8.5/10 scriptwise. May change depended on how the subs clear it up.

Next episode they start the Volume 6 part, HYPE!!

I'm not impressed with Collbrande's design. Excalibur Ruler looked far better.

Akeno was absolutely adorable this episode, but I'm still sad about her and Koneko's development being so rushed. Wait, speaking of Koneko, I can't forget about that extremely cute lap scene. That was a great addition.

Kuroka's attention to Koneko is a bit too much, still waiting on Saji's awakening, where the fuck did Sairaorg come from (he's gonna be a part of the final fight, calling it), and if the Vali team stole Gleipnir they should at least bring that up to explain it.

Why can Mjolnir be used without a problem?

That curse Loki placed on Ise opens up all kinds of interesting scenarios on how this will play out now that Fenrir's already been nerfed like SmashBros' Greninja.

I'm expecting quality animation for the second-half, TNK. Faithful adaptation of V6 let's go!

Hmmm ... with Fenrir being part of Vali's team now. Though Collbrande's design doesn't look amazing I prefer Durandal's design over Collbrande.

Also I like that Koneko using Ise's lap scene too cute.

Great episode.

A bit rushed yeah, but the sheer cuteness prevailed over all.

Akeno looked so different on the date lol, like what the hell.

Not gonna lie, felt a bit disappointed by this episode, if only because they could have lengthened the Akeno bit for another half an episode or so. Probably that, along with them doing the 'boob-talk' bit right at the bit when Akeno offers herself to Issei. Doesn't show that Issei CAN make the choice to not sleep with his girls, that he truly adores and cares for them. One of his better moments in my mind.

Finally saw the ep. Random thoughts:

-Had to lol a bit a Fenrir's scrub-level nerfing. I don't care, it's just funny compared to the hype he gets in the LN.

-Sad to see Issei get rezzed right away as the ep started. Rias was approaching Wu-Tang Clan levels of ain't nuthin' to mess with.

-Ermahgawd, what a cute episode. The date and Koneko on the lap were great. A tad rushed? Sure. But ADORABLE nonetheless.

-I agree with Poodicus, supplanting what normally goes down when Akeno offers herself to Issei was a mistake. It's a really powerful scene and shows he really cares.

The date and Koneko using Issei's lap as a pillow were cute scenes.

That said I am disappointed that they changed the scene where Akeno offers herself to Issei. It was a great scene that really shows how much issei cares about the girls.

This episode had everything it could to satisfy me with the akeno date but i'm disappointed at how the scenes concerning her father and her wanting to have sex with issei was handled. and i don't even know how it happened in the novels.

Though it did get better after she forgave his father. but really, it looks like akeno's character arc was treated as a minor issue and that is terrible to see

Have the lot of you considered that it might get expanded upon in the BDs, given how they'll most likely have extra scenes, just like last season?

I'm sure it has been mentioned before that here will not be extra-scenes this season? Perhaps I am wrong but I remember clearly.

It seems this Season the specials will be more like those of Season 1. I just hope they'll have only the episodic format, and still cover canon material, like Venelana's classes.

I haven't seen any announcement one way or the other. I'm just assuming that'll be the case, since that's extremely popular right now.
