Star Trek Beyond (7/22/16)
‘Star Trek 3′ Reflects ‘Spirit of the TV Show,’ Simon Pegg Says:
"Rejoice, Trekkies! The latest sequel to the rebooted “Star Trek” franchise will capture the spirit of the original TV show. Co-writer and star Simon Pegg told Comic Book Resources that “Star Trek 3,” whose script was recently completely overhauled, will have more familiar notes that the previous two films. “I think we just want to take it forward with the spirit of the TV show,” Pegg told the site. Pegg, who will return to play engineering chief Scotty, also said that the new film will be infused with the same optimism and sense of adventure that characterized the original stories." Given a certain film that's coming out on Friday, I'm sure the major studios are releasing initial trailers for their "big gun" movies for next year in hopes that they will be shown before The Force Awakens.

Not a bad trailer.
Though it is kind of a shame they are basically nuking the ship in order to force the action to be on the ground for this one. You know....in a movie called Star Trek. There will be plenty of trekking I suppose.... I'm also with Solace....I'm really missing the TNG era Star Trek. Here's hoping that new TV series that was announced turns out well. That's the only place you really get to see the more diplomatic side to Star Trek which never seems to appear in the films.

I know right? And double that feelings as I grew up watching TNG (not really a TOS person myself).
Heck, based on this teaser, many people already labeled this as Star Trek Beyond Fast and Furious .

The Enterprise being beaten up like that causes me a bit of pain. I still remember the days when the Enterprise was treated like a character in her own right.
Though I know a segment of the Star Trek fandom that will be very happy to get rid of this version of the Enterprise if they can get something that looks more like the old TOS or TMP version of the ship.

What do you mean? I can't wait for this action filled adventure. Rather than these old and boring episodes, Family, The Measure of a Man, Darmok or The Inner Light, I have an explosion filled movie where the Enterprise is destroyed in the beginning. Strange new worlds, new life and new civilisations? Boring! Some bike tricks? Hell yeah!
The recent Aoki hagane no Arpeggio Cadenza movie I saw has more in common with Star Trek than new Star Trek. Quote:
