Well, the season is over, and with it a return to the status quo. Aoyagi replaced Tougane as the Division 1 Enforcer full time, leaving us with two "new" Enforcers who had maybe 42 seconds of characterization. Mika's still clear, and swears in a very nutters way that she'll just forget about Sibyl's secret in order to stay clear. And no one is aware of what she did or what she knows. Sibyl cleaned house a bit, but the end result isn't really any different than it was at the end of season 1.
So... yeah. Total cash grab season that contributes nothing to characterization or world building. |

Absolutely disappointing. I had at least hoped for Tougane to do something but he ended up being a useless mama's boy whose only purpose in the show is to look evil and grin like a retard. Holy crap and this season started out really promising too.

Akane saw right through Togane.
Kamui showed some of his inner faces. He was not the only one either. More of Togane's past got revealed. Misako got judged. She so deserved that. Kamui's followers were put down as well. Togan-Kamui showdown was short & sweet. Kamui opened the door and things will change. Good final episode.

Meh ending to a meh season. I didn't think it was completely awful but this was definitely something that I felt disappointed especially with the momentum it had build up from the first few episodes.
Hope the movie will be better.

Status quo didn't even really change if you think about it. We knew there were new Enforcers at the end of season 1, but we weren't shown any but Ginoza. So it seems they died off-screen since we got 2 new ones again this season. But going into the movie, we'll have Aoyagi and Sho. They had almost no characterization, beyond Sho being good with holos and Aoyagi having been a former drone making employee. Neither is so important that, if mentioned in the movie, you wouldn't be able to just go "Okay, so he can do that, cool." Which is exactly how Kagari and Yayoi worked in season 1.
Even Mika went into the season with nothing for characterization, and ended with nearly nothing since she went a bit nutters and repressed her knowledge of Sibyl. Honestly, that's both the most disappointing thing about the season as well as the best thing, since it means I don't feel the need to buy it now. |

Well....at least the music was good.
I didnt have high expectations, everything I figured would happen did including Mika not having the guts to pull the trigger. Most useless character ever.

So many things were confusing about that final.
-For starters, how did sibyl judge misako togane, if she’s supposed to be criminally asymptomatic, and if shes supposed to be part of their collective identity in the first place? In essence that means Sibyl judged an individual within itself. (which it ended up doing later on in the episode, but it shouldn't have happened at that point) How did sibyl judge itself as a collective whole, if everyone is criminally asymptomatic in sibyl? I know it was touched on in another episode, but I don't really see the benefits of judging society as a collective whole either. Sure, that means sibyl can judge people like kirito, but in the end, why should it always be applied. it's ether going to weed out the people with high crime coefficients (which is what it's doing right now anyway) or it's going to wipe out entire groups/ society as a whole, or the witch hunt thing that was mentioned.

Utterly Disappointing!
Iam glad that Togane is dead but why isnt Mika still dead and the hell she still an inspector?>> Lastly Why is there no Kougami even at the end? ;we only see Akane trying to 2nd hand smoke herself again

I actually thought this finale was considerably better than expected. One of the first seasons few flaws was that it ended on an ambiguous note and that Akane could only make threats against Sybl and nothing more. But here Akane actually managed to achieve something and make some sort of progress (even if it's mostly informed for now). The whole collective judgement philosophy now actually has some substance to it now that Sybll spelled out the wider implications to society. And it turns out in the end that the Sybll system wasn’t completely retarded after all and actually wanted to use Kirito to improve itself as well but was mixed on it, hence the inconsistency of Sybll's actions. The problem is though, how does the Sybll system work so that a part of this can keep it a secret from the other part it may well end up killing? Because Mama Togane clearly didn't see it coming.
