Three bosses - three times the trouble. I think reused some frames from one of the previous episodes since it did focus on Shiroe's point of view after he dies.
Good episode nonetheless. I feel bad for him irl though.

Three Raid bosses at the same time? May as well drop your pants and bend over and grab your ankles because you're going to get spanked son! Getting over this impossible hurdle is going to require some serious strategizing considering a single Raid Boss already requires considerable effort.

There were a lot of interesting revelations in this episode. One that I found fascinating was my realization that the simplified character designs aren't necessarily due to low budget. The scenes from Shiroe's past where his "real life" character design is far more sophisticated than his Eldar Tales design said to me that the simplified Eldar Tales characters design might be an intentional artistic decision to reflect the look of a computer avatar versus how an animated "real person" looks. Until now, that thought never occurred to me. I just assumed the anime staff used simple designs to save money.

example: -EU server used EU map + 2 EU class for gameplay -USA server used USA map+ 2class for gameplay -same thing with JPA server (example: only Japanese server used japan map and have Samurai class) edit: worst about three boss, they are not your average 3/4 boss in same fight where they are tone to have same power as one boss. But, they are three separate boss(s) from different wing that joined the battle |

Yesiree and Bob's your uncle...as if that one level 97 boss was not hard enough two others decide to join the fray. Yeesh. Talk about discouraging.
It was interesting to learn a little more about Shiroe this episode though...poor kid. Not a bad episode in general going back a bit in time chronologically to recount things both before and after he met Akatsuki on the moon - the "unofficial test server", and technically the 14th? So you go to the test server when you die, eh? And then somehow get sent back...from the moon. Hrm....

Lot's of revelations were revealed this episode about why his raid had wiped earlier and the significance of the so called "test server". We get some more character development from Shiroe, but I felt they used too many flashbacks and the same scenes from Akatsuki's episode to save money. They lifted the last couple of minutes scene for scene with the same dialogue as well.

With the world changing we also see the boss changing, that's going to be something to watch.
We also got some character developements for Shiroe, we got to see why it's so hard for adventurers to keep fighting after dieing. |

That was one epic battle in the first half. Liked how the battle was going back and forth between the boss and Silver Sword but they were still holding their own against the boss mechanics... then two more bosses showed up, something like a raider's worst nightmare.
The second half was slower, but aside from that recap moment with Akatsuki, pretty interesting. Liked that the "real world" segments had somewhat different, more realistic artwork to show real Shiro and past little kid Shiro, not to mention learning some more background about him. I think I remember we saw a glimpse of real Naotsugu a while back in his office job (when they were at that cabin). Nice to hear Shiroe is still digging at the mysteries of their new world, but that's an even tougher puzzle than just politics. Too bad the raid wiped, but really liked the battle. Even Demikas got some moments, like when he kicked Shiroe out the way. Didn't save him, but just glad Demikas didn't try to attack Shiroe during the raid, the battle was tough enough as is. |
