Pretty interesting situation this week. There's a serial killer on the loose killing Adventurers, but considering they revive pretty quickly, its not really a tragedy. Though as pointed out they shouldn't get too comfortable with dying either, but at least the city's not in a panic yet.

I still prefer the way the novels did it, but at least this way the two major plots (Akiba and Shiroe's raid) are staying synchronized, leading to next episode. Nice action (who knew Soujiro had such a dark side), Akatsuki's not a top player, but she still sort of held her own for a bit.

in mmo, it's normal for Guard to have higher level than player to protect lower level area from OK.

actually, his level should be 104 instead of just 94 since level cap was raise from 90 to 100

Production values aside, I like the way parts of the Abyssal Shaft raid are used to mirror what's happening in Akiba. Not only does it help explain something in what's to come in the next episode, it also helps to keep people wanting for more: "What the heck happened?! Damn cliffhanger! "

Kudos to Shimono for bringing out Soujicchi's black-and-white nature =3 The harem-master is not just some soft-spoken young man! >=3

I take it the novels did it such that each of the plots took up a separate volume? Honestly, I like the synchronization of the two plots, though.

Seems like Log Horizon's main trio has all just died...well...their HP went to zero...
At least that explains what that cutaway scene at the end of episode 1 is.

Yeah, same here. I though it something to do with the ending of the novels.

On the other hand, seeing Kinjou doing nothing on this situation is getting on my nerves!

He does seem annoyingly detached, doesn't he? Even when apologizing he gives off an aura of "none of this is my problem." However, given that, as he said, the only way to so much as render the murderer even vulnerable to attack would also strip Akiba of its defenses for decades, there doesn't actually seem to be all that much he can do about this particular problem.

EDIT: Hopefully at some point we'll get an explanation of what happened to Shiroe's raid party. AND NOT HERE IN THE THREAD FROM AN LN READER'S SPOILER POST, THANK YOU. Don't even post it in a spoiler tag, please: I want to see if they will show it rather than have folks here talk about it.

So Kazuhiko and Shirou are the only ones who can snap Soujiro out of his frenzy of madness?

Even Kanami can't do that then.

It seems D. Tea Party is more what I thought.

Dark Soujirou sure was badass! Just realizing how little we have actually seen him in that cool looking samurai armor and on top of that, a nitou ryuu user eh? Also glad that Akatsuki took a step forward with renewed purpose, too bad this was a fight she couldn't win. The production values certainly went up this episode, the fight was pretty good and nice idea with the bionic sound effect lol

Good episode. Serious Souji is badass. He needs to show up more.
Souji was a member of the Tea Party right?

What were 'Teachings' called in the LN again?

Rapeface Souji was chilling, sad to see poor Akatsuki struggle with all of her might only to get cut down, and looks like Shiroe's raid suffered a full wipe, I'm sure we'll get more details a bit later. We'll see what answer Akatsuki finds after being slain for the first time since the story started.

they need to keep their value of death and life if they plan to return to original world

after all, it won't be funny to try to used death warp in real life

edit: for people who don't know:
basically, instead of running for 15~30min to get back to your home town, you just kill yourself and re-raise at your home-point

real life-> damn, it will talk long time to return home
-> jump in-front car to die and re-raise at you home...oh wait! (sound of crush)

From what I've heard elsewhere, "Kouden," translated as "overskill."

Love that dark side Souji has this episode.

Interesting how one of the Kunie Royal Guards was able to use the armor that way. Seems the Landers get a level boost with that armor.
