I hate when they announce an anime with a date so far off... why bother?, wait until is close.

I'm kind of surprised they announced it and released a trailer this early. At the earliest we're talking about it coming out a year from now.

it was good, I love when the native people get to see the wonders of the science from the modern world.

specialy chrome, I got pretty emotive when he got to fly and cried.

Except it's important to the story and the third season will be starting where it left off.

I'd prefer to see the third season sooner (and this was pretty much three episodes already), but at least it was nice to watch some animated Dr. Stone this year. Nostalgic to hear the original opening again. These chapters had some of my favorite faces of the series too, with the tricks they were pulling off. Too bad the actual next season won't be until next year, but I'm happy to see these chapters animated earlier too.

Can't say for sure but maybe to tease/appease fans since season 3 doesn't air for another year. Also, by having it as a special that could free up one airing slot they could use for other material they might want to cover in the season proper.

Oh darn...I thought this was the beginning of a new season, but I didn't do my research, and I guess being pleasantly surprised that the original opening was used and the episode was so long didn't click for me.

But anyways, some Dr. Stone is better than no Dr. Stone. It was really awesome to start building the ship, but also produce clothing, fashion, utilize currency and labor, build the hot air balloon, and even learn about the clouds. But the most important takeaway for me was the building of this society, and establishing (manipulating) trust amongst people.

Also, not too sure about the sudden Minecraft. Did the author start playing it or something around the time of this story?
