That was a truly laid-back episode.
Did Rin breaking the pasta in half in the first season become a meme in Japan too? Because when she did it again here, she seemed very self-aware. Chiaki solo camping next ep, huh. That's bound to be interesting.

I do appreciate that Rin hasn't forgotten about inviting Nadeshiko out for a camping trip for the two of them. Though it is very much in character that now that she's missed a good window for doing so...she feels awkward about it .
Did make me think back to Long Riders. No doubt that Nadeshiko would be a powerhouse if she went around on a road bike. And certainly getting around on the kind of bike that Rin was using and getting around on a road bike would be pretty different experiences. Though no surprise she's going to let the power of machines get her around from now on! Good to have a Rin solo trip now and then.

This episode's outcomes were eerily similar to the purpose of the photo trip I did over the weekend, about appreciating the local but off-the-beaten-path sights around one's home. I also enjoyed the John Wick callback: having the Baba Yaga on one's tail would be enough to encourage anyone who isn't High Table to think twice about littering. This episode's segment with Nadeshiko trying to fit an entire tree into her camera frame brought back a classic challenge photographers have, and Sakura's suggestion is identical to what is suggested of anyone who shoots with a lens that they feel isn't wide enough.
