Felt like the episode could of been condensed a little but the part about Keith's past and his encounter with Roid during his childhood was interesting.
Berger's last visit makes Freyja doubt herself as she does not want to hurt Hayate. The test isn't going through because of that. It gets bad to the point both are fighting over who would quit. Mirage straightens them out regardless of her own feelings which makes her the Gamlin of the show. Just do the things you want to do and never waver. What she wants is those that she love's happiness.
On the Aerial Knight side they are discussing about what happened to them on Voldor. The twin starting to think there is something about Mikumo that can affect the Protoculture system. Bogue stupid as ever thinks that is impossible believing it was Freyja as she is a Windermerean. Cassim ties to hide he is deteriorating from Helmann.
Berger gets back with souvenirs from Barrete City but Roid hates it. They talk but Keith comes in.
Heinz gets a new doctor that Keith starts to doubt Roid.
Heinz is wondering what the heck happened before. He meets Helmann's son whose pet bird he tamed with song. Him and Helmann thought he was about to be attacked.
Meanwhile Makina and Reina conspire to meet Mikumo in the hospital ship hacking its systems. Kaname finds out instead of squeeling joins them. Doesn't go as planned as the ship's net security is better than expected. Reina should've known that is possibility as Kaos recruited her after catching her hacking into them. Makina and Reina get arrested but Kaname reaches a sleeping Mikumo. Kaname singing Axia Mikumo responds singing it in her sleep.
I certainly heard Giraffe Blues, but then the credits listed AXIA.
I'm going with my ears on that one.

Yeah, I saw that too. Perhaps they'd planned to use AXIA and then decided at the last minute that Giraffe Blues works better, and forgot to or couldn't change the credits. I think it's pretty effective.
Wait, what? Why can't Reina, Makina and Kaname visit Mikumo on the hospital ship? Who is forbidding this? Arad? Honest Johnson?
That's one big question.
Possibly Arad, somebody probably knows every single thing about Mikumo and refuses the other Walkure members to get involved until she is back to normal.

Gotta admit, Mirage was fantastic this ep. That lecturing. 100/10.
That hacking Reina did is still awesome. Even with the tight security of the hospital ship they managed to reach through, and Reirei unlocked the final door! Hopefully them being caught after don't get to waste. Kaname made it. I hope she can save Mikumo. ;_;
Mikumo responding to Giraffe Blues by singing. I felt goosebumps when I heard that. Is she really back to normal...? Nothing bad happened to her...? WE SHOULD SEE THAT NEXT EP.
And Windermere flashback. Kinda didn't expect Keith to have a low voice. (Kimura Ryohei still voicing him haha) But setting that aside, even up to the present, Keith is still worried (and suspicious) of Roid.
That's cute of Hayate and Freyja that they were willing to quit what they truly love to make the other person happy. Also, I'm starting to like Mirage a lot more. It was nice of her to help them get together rather than have jealousy get the better of her.
Another slow episode with barely anything of importance happening, so far I'm disappointed with this second cour, the pacing is really bad, we go from backstory to exposition to some character backstory almost every episode, couldn't they have mixed it a little bit? this episode and the last one could be combined into just one and it would have been the same result.
The funny thing is that the story is good, it's interesting but the pacing holds it back taking into account what is happening, Windermere conquered the whole globular cluster, declared war on the whole galaxy and destroyed the local NUNS Fleet, and yet Xaos did nothing for weeks until they liberated Voldor (by accident I might add) and NUNS is doing nothing.
But ok, let's say that NUNS and Xaos are planning or taking their time, what about windermere then? they got more ships and drakens, shouldn't we see them trying to attack other colonized planets outside of the cluster by now? I mean if they are serious about taking over the galaxy.
I don't know, did they spend most of the budget for the series in the first cour? the other option (and the one I hope it's the case) is that they are saving part of their budget for the 3 or 4 final episodes so they can go all out, but even so that shouldn't have anything to do with the atrocious pace.

I'm waiting for subs but...from what I've seen so far this is how I kinda feel. I understand their sentiments if Messer was still alive, but they are literally the only reason they're hanging on in the fights. Just what exactly do they think they'll achieve if either of them quits?
Also this is actually maybe the first time I legitimately felt bad for Mirage within the context of the show. The idea that these two selfish brats are the closest people she has really frustrates me...
I don't think Arad knows anything since he's the one who asked if there was any news on her (and Hayate's) condition in episode 19.
But Arad made an interesting statement in episode 18.
Arad: The bigger an organization the more secret it hides.
Kaname: Does that go for you too?
Arad: Every rug has a few secrets swept under them. Well, that's just life.
The closest to Lady M are Ernest and Arad. So I believe they are well aware about Mikumo. I'd bet he holds info back and he knows more than we believe. My opinion on Arad (and Ernest).

That's cute of Hayate and Freyja that they were willing to quit what they truly love to make the other person happy. Also, I'm starting to like Mirage a lot more. It was nice of her to help them get together rather than have jealousy get the better of her.
What she doing in this episode pretty much telling her "angry" looks from previous episodes was nothing to do with jealousy.
I have mixed feelings with this episode. I did enjoy it, but there are a couple of problematic points with the execution.
I enjoyed the following:
- Kaname, Makina and Reina breaking in Chaos ship to rescue Mikumo.
- How the Windermerian side plots are advancing somewhere (and the twins might have a sliver of characterization to distinguish them from Bogue?!). While I was more emotionally satisfied with the one above, I think this one is better executed part of the episode.
Hayate's and Freyja's reactions were very predictable. They need some time to sort out what is happening after the information last episode. However what I plainly dislike or have issues with execution:
- Mirage and the triangle again.
- Mikumo rescue mission. Now I like the idea, but it seemed a little badly organized. Why didn't Reina and Makina trusted Freyja and Kaname with it since the beginning? They are a team. Kaname stumbled upon them accidentally. I wish she had come up with it too, because she's the leader. Though I forgive them for the last scene between them. Why didn't they enlisted Chuck, for example? They are friends, aren't they? It seems that Chaos is also falling apart internally, not just Windermere.
Let's go to the Mirage part. Not touching the horrible romance stuff which I never liked in any equation.
Spoiler for How not to do character development:
While so many surely are patting themselves how 'great' Mirage is for 'lecturing' Hayate and Freyja, I just see her as a horribly written and misused character whose development and role seems to be about becoming an accessory plot device to help Hayate and Freyja develop. Let me be frank, this scene would have been great, if it came out from Mirage's mouth after she got actual character development and practiced what she preached as a fully realized character. It would have been satisfying then, but instead of development her as character, she's used as tool to speed up Freyja and Hayate's synchronization resolution because we have a handful of episodes left. It just seemed to be added to make her do something for others when she cannot do anything for herself. I don't think they are purposefully just making her like this, it seems it's inexperienced and clunky writing.
I would have liked to see her come on her own in realizing she has to be their vanguard (what I said she was in episode 13) and growing comfortable with this role first (and enjoying it!), instead of making her say so to be used as stepping stone in a relationship. It's not that she's a bad person, but she's a badly written character. All her second to Arad leader plot was dropped for the romance focus on her episodes ago (and I was looking forward it!). She's still poorly handled, no matter if they give her a good scenes. They seem artificial when she hasn't resolved anything nor is actually taking her own advice.
Anyway, the whole way the synchro 'plot' is going is completely predictable. They were using the ED song which is about Hayate synchronizing with Freyja again on their test to make it even more obvious. Frankly speaking, it looks like a dumb subplot which takes away the focus on the far more interesting Mikumo plot. We could have had this episode focused on that part instead of wasting time on this, IMO.

I suppose you're right about Freyja, but what about Chuck or Kaname? I still would have liked to see Kaname come up with this idea because she's the closest thing Mikumo has as best friend.
