So...more period appropriate Bodacious Space Pirates? It's kind of funny the lead is styled after a Western pirate while her crew look to be all Japanese

I'm hoping it will be a lot more interesting than that "CGDCT in space" nonsense of a show but the trailer really looks good and I like the grittier aesthetic.

I am annoyed that this is only a 12 episode project though.

I just assumed that is crew she brought from exile. She escaped to Japan, made allies there and brought them back to Europe for sweet revenge/justice.

I really wonder how she's going to win those guys over. Making allies is one thing, but she's clearly the captain here and they're her subordinates.

There's a scene in the trailer where she meets an old guy who I assume is the Ninja's lord or master so I assume she offers something in the West that's worth their time and he's impressed by her resolve (or something like that).

You never know. May have intentionally ripped off the title there. Somehow I don't expect it to be as enjoyable as Xena, but might be worth a look.

Also, am I the only one that is thinking of Xena: Warrior Princess when seeing that title?

Edit: This was a quick drop. I thought this was supposed to be about pirates. All I saw that episode were clowns and comedy.

First two episodes are out I thought it visually looks great (as expected from Production I.G.) the setting is interesting (fantasy Caribbean) but the story but the characters and story aren't doing much for me. Yukimaru being a violent tsundere is difficult to like.

I'll give it a few more episode see where it goes.
