While this episode decided to go ahead with one of the most blatant of all ship-teases the arranged marriage, I'm glad that the show didn't forget the message it's been relaying lately; "the past does not have priority over the present". Though it seems Yozora still has lingering sentiments about that now that she seems practically soulless thanks to this reveal.
I guess since their dads are friends there was always a possibility that Kodaka and Sena have met before. They must have been only like 2 or 3 years old in that picture to not be able to remember it. Hmmmm and we meet a new character Yusa, the self-proclaimed rival of Sena huh? I don't think you can be a rival when half of the party doesn't even know who the other half is. I'm guessing she's not going to have much significance or screentime though, being introduced so late into the second season. Also I just have to ask, what is with Kobato's night wear? Is it part of her chunnibyou? Otherwise it's pretty damn skimpy for a girl of her age. I'd imagine regular pajamas being much more appropriate. And Yozora plagiarized the script of an obscure but well-written movie huh? Sorry Yozora, I can't back you up on that one. That's just laziness.

It's hard to make out how I should react to this episode. There were so many things that happened. Sena had her good points as well as her bad points in the episode. Yozora double KO'd as well (engagement and longer childhood friends between Sena and Kodaka).
Then there was the random red-head Aoi coming out in the blue who wants to beat Sena even though she is the 2nd best in the school tests. Btw, even though she was a red head, her name is Aoi, which means blue. I wonder if that will have a significance. However, after this episode's bombshell that Kodaka and Sena have an arranged marriage, which I believe Kodaka's dad still thinks is in effect from their last conversation even if Kodaka does not remember it, there is a lot of uncertainty in the air right now. How does this affect Yozora? Will Sena move forward with this? From Sena's reaction at the church, it looks like she wanted to let Yozora know about her relationship with Kodaka. It does not appear to be out of malice, but more because she does not want to hide things from her "friend", Yozora. Btw, I just saw someone post a survey in Japan ranking anime girls for Valentine's in another thread, and Sena was top 3. I guess she really is popular. Also, it looks like Kate is really happy to find out that Sena and Kodaka are not dating, since it means an opportunity for her. Again, I'm not sure about the dating the nun situation. Well, let's see if this news will have long term lingering effects, or if it will suddenly disappear in the storyline.

Mah~ In addition to the ship-tease this episode also clearly shows the side of Sena when responding to those on the other side of her attention and we see why she has problems making friends. But aside from that I'm just glad that we finally gotten the whole 'mysterious' foreshadowing from since the early episodes out in the open. Yes I know it's a minor thing, but it's been bugging me !

On a lighter tone, it is just me or at the church Sena blatantly stated Kobato will be hers and a meek Kodaka barely managed to say "cut it out"? One of these days Sena is going to rape Kobato and kodaka will be "don't be too loud, ok?" That coupled with how Kodaka promised Pegasus to prevent Sena from being bullied (turning of the ps3 before Sena could save is bullying) and Kodaka has joined the ranks of spineless male leads™ |

Her tendencies are uncannily autistic-like too. Having intense interests only in certain things to such an intense level it's borderline criminal and completely shutting down whatever does not suit them. Not to mention her amazing grades in school which can really only be logically explained with her having an incredible memorization ability since she said she never studied or anything. Now you've gotten me wondering if Sena's on the spectrum or not since she shows such tendencies. Albeit a high-functioning one if she is. Quote:

Game, set and match.
Yozora beaten at her own game. Childhood friends? Looks like the other two go way back. Whoops. As much as I still find Sena annoying, I loved Yozora's expression after the big reveal, hahahaha. But it's been said that the past doesn't really matter, so I expect Yozora to bounce back in no time. PS: Aoi, you're annoying. Go away. Eh... I really don't think that qualifies as bullying. It's a rather harmless thing. |

It was touched a bit yeah during her introduction, but this I think was the first time we have someone to 'relate' to about it. Sena essentially ignored her existence not as a 'rival', but even as her classmate. And it's safe to assume this is the case for most of her classmate. What's more, it's an eroge- How hard could it be to catch up?

If you take it as a individual episode (as in "Yozora was really, really, in a hurry to start shooting the scene") that would be correct, but what we have here are frequente incidents (not necessarily the same thing over and over), where Yozora is only looking at how to make Sena's life miserable and that is bullying. With average school girls that would be enough to break them on the long run, but Sena is insanely driven (or a masochist at heart) so she keeps going as if nothing happened.

I realize you don't like Yozora and that's fine, I have characters I don't like either, but I can't say I approve of taking such an inconsequential action that anyone could have done towards Sena and using it as fuel for your hate.
