A preview for this came out back in October, but I was randomly browsing and found a PV from last week. Here it is for those curious. It actually looks like it'll be pretty cute.

Episode 1:
Oh boy, here comes the responsibility. A guy like Ryuuichi taking on a job as a babysitter should be quite an experience. It didn't take long for him to get right into taking care of Kotarou. I think for most parts, the first episode did well at establishing the premise, introducing the characters, and crafting the chemistry between the cast. The kids are absolutely adorable so far I'm curious to see how much they will adapt this. It's a 1 cour show but has a lot of chapters to work with. Very cute episode!

Aww, this was cute. A bit too cute what with all the kids and their exaggerated baby talk (although I'm not one for little kids in general). Grumpy grandma with a secret heart of gold was nice, I wish schools in real life also had on-site daycare available for the staff... with actual, qualified daycare nurses, though.
The ending is a realy cute song, although I wish Nishiyama didn't have to sing it in character... |

That was a good first episode. Lot of emotions in there, but handled nicely. Ryuichi and Kotaro are pretty solid characters to work around. Honestly I feel a strange sense of respect for the major characters. No real hesitation with Ryuichi in taking on this job. It doesn't escape him how much they were saved by the Chairwoman getting involved.
Though it does take a while to really hit home how much he has lost. Not surprising in some ways since Ryuichi was probably usually alone with his brother since his parents were away often. A simple but effective move to just have it hit home after he was about to make the phone call. I thought he would correct the nurse about his parents, but maybe in that moment even he had forgotten they were dead. Nice timing by the Chairwoman to be there when Ryuichi did finally break down. That was just a good start for the show. Looking forward to seeing things move forward.

Episode 2:
Dang, that Inomata girl can be a bit scary to the kids. I like how this episode consistently adapted her personality like from the manga. I also feel bad for her since she has the feeling that "studying is all she has". Nice episode. I really liked the balance of the light comedy but also the bit of emotions fleshed out. Seeing the kids go to the zoo was also a fun enjoyment.

Aw another cute episode. As expected the tigers scared the kids, I’m actually surprised the elephant didn’t, since their large bodies tend to intimidate children.
Taka...is quite annoying, but he’s also the closest to being an actual child in reality. Last edited by Mistyclear; 2018-01-14 at 18:58. |

I don't know, zoo tigers tend to be pretty chill... they're just large cats lying around, being bored. I've seen kids in the zoo being disappointed that the tigers are not living up to their image.
(When I was a very small child I was scared of the giraffes, apparently because I couldn't wrap my mind about how they could even exist. Why are they so huge. What's the deal with the neck. It doesn't make any sense, for a two-year-old, anyway. Real giraffes are very different from what you see in picture books!) |

Maybe is because looks like I have more tolerance with little girls and boys. I can tolerate just fine the tantrums of my little nieces but probably in a male I could not. |

Didn't expect much from this series but I gave it a try. Surprisingly, it was pretty entertaining. That scene at the hospital was heartbreaking, nearly brought me to tears.
Bonus is having Ono Daisuke playing a role in the series!

The kids are cute and all
But I am here for the Mothers ;D Also, large age gap siblings are interesting... most people I know only have 1~2 years of age gap between siblings, rarely see people with 5~8+ years gap. PS: da Ino crying and getting comforted by the kids was nice, she may look scary, but I think she actually wants to be nice, IE: Tsundere. |
