Not a bad first episode. Sets the stage with the new main character for this story. Good bit of mystery around just what happened in her past. It does end with covering just what her wish was, but we'll have to see the exact effects.

Her absence from the OP seems like such a gigantic death flag that I'm thinking she's actually going to survive and become a major character.

Good first episode, they already layout the plot
Missing memory, weird mass dream, baby kyubey
And that Kuroe, I thought she gonna be kind of Homura clone and will has some important role
But she has 0 appearance in OP, that was very big red flag there

I've just rewatched the first episode and I guess I had a bad day last time as obviously it's not Magia but Hic Puella ..., but aside from that I stand by
- misuse of old iconography
- nostalgiabait (for lack of a better word)
- the whole episode of going to Kamihama lacked any kind of reason for me to care. Now this seems to be more a setup for further plot later on, but so far it came out of nowhere and it went nowhere.

nice, they saved the girl's pet cat from the train witch.

Iroha is really mysterious. Why her sister disappear?

They encounter the train witch again, then I'm surprised a very strong witch from Kamihama appear and easily kill the train witch. First time to see a witch kill another one of it's own kind. They are saved by a tiny Kyubey and a strong magical girl. Plenty of surprises just on the first episode.
