Fixed Topic titile: Anime that a hero/heroine 'failed/doesn't win' at the end but still have a happy ending

NOTE!: Since the discussion in this topic is likely to be about the ending of many anime, the spoiler might be everywhere in this topic. I'm fine with spoiler but I don't think everyone who come in this topic is the same as me. Therefore, please use spoiler tag when you are going to mention the names of any show as the answer to the topic's question.

Hi, can you give me the name of an anime that at the end:

A) A or some main conflict(s) of the show is(are) still remain at the end and hero/heroine failed to fix it or can't do anything about it. OR

B) Hero/Heroine failed to achieve their goal/dream/target at the end. OR

C) Hero/Heroine doesn't win over the bad guy side OR

D) a villain wins

BUT even after those things happened, the show can still end with happy ending or a bitter sweet ending. (well, any ending that is not tragic or very sad ending). An easy example will be a sport anime that hero/Heroine team lost at the end but they will keep pursuing their goal , something like that. (However, If possible, please give me a title that isn't a sport anime)

If you want, you can just give only the name of a show. No need to explain how it end.

Personally I would consider that ending more on the heart-wrenching side than bittersweet side, but maybe that's me. I guess it isn't a bad ending overall though.

Spoiler for Major Psycho-Pass spoilers: The female lead totally fails in her climatic mission. She also ends up stuck working for a shady group that she clearly considers evil. In spite of this, the final scenes of the final episode have a happy vibe to them. Love Live! kinda/sorta applies Spoiler for Major Love Live! spoilers: Honoka had two major goals. She succeeded at one. She failed at the other. In some ways, the failure is the bigger deal since it's tied directly into the very name of the show. That's all I have off the top of my head. Mods should probably move this thread to the Suggestions subforum, though. Edit: I just thought of another one. Hanasaku Iroha Spoiler for Major Hanasaku Iroha spoilers: Enishi's screw-ups eventually prove overwhelming, forcing the beloved Inn to close. Spoiler: Hero succeeds in his rescue mission, but it results in a catastrophe which causes great damage to his world. Suffers a huge Heroic BSOD. Mirai Nikki Spoiler: Hero pretty much fails to save anyone he wanted to save throughout the story. But the ending is happy enough. Kind of have to see the whole thing to get the context sola Spoiler: Hero gets... erased form existence. But it is a happy ending for him and everyone else regardless.
