Sylphy so pretty

Also the ridiculousness of his ability was quite funny

This is one novel that I let pile but haven't continue again

Is there anyone still reading the novel? I decided to read the manga here, but I didn't really like how the whole village of elves treats the main character as a slave.
Will something change further, or will he be the slave of the dark elf until the very end?
She is certainly beautiful and all that, but I don't really like heroes who agree to be slaves (be they men or women). I don't know why the Japanese love it so much.
Now, if he strove to free himself and become equal with the rest, then it would be better.

from what i read in the WN is that he's only a salve at first since they think he's a human from there world once they find out he's from earth and the slave collar has no affect on him they treat him normally

They also have a much shorter range and rate of fire is pitiful. Also suitable mostly for straight firing and unsuitable for firing from city walls. On the other hand, you don't need such a long training to fire a bow. All you need is being able to fire in the general direction and distance of the enemy and some of the arrows will hit by itself, hundred of people firing and thoasands of enemies in close formation, it might actually be more effective to fire randomly than to fire precisely and waste time and getting massive overkills because of multiple people shooting the same person.
In other words, it's not like crossbows weren't used because of bad technology, it just wasn't worth using them. The only exception would be hunting where they excel.
You clearly don't have a clear idea about the use of the crossbow. Rate of fire isn't that important especially if you sacrifice the ability to do damage. Lower range isn't important because long range shooting is overrated. Typically they start shooting at about 70m but the shots become effective only at less than 30m. Bolts with wood or parchment vanes can be stored for long time. Feathers are very delicate and sensitive to moisture (with the exception of feathers derived from waterfowl). In the defense of castles or fortifications crossbows were preferred....

The Chinese (han dynasty) widely disagree with you:https://historum.com/threads/han-dyn...bow-ii.131303/

Heaviest standard 8 stone Han crossbow power = 4902 inch lbs * 60% efficiency = 2941 inch lbs = 332 Joules
Typical 6 stone strength Han crossbow's power = 3676.5 inch pounds * 60% efficiency = 249 Joules
Andreas Bichler's 1200 lb composite crossbow = 4488 inch lbs * 39.04% efficiency = 1752.3 inch lbs = 198 Joules
Heavy Song dynasty bow made to pierce armor = 1840 inch lbs * 75% efficiency = 1380 inch lbs = 156 Joules
Tod Todeschini's 1250 lb steel crossbow = 4062.5 inch lbs * 30.5% efficiency = 1239 inch lbs = 140 Joules]

English warbow pundage in late medeval-early Renaissance is about 120-180lbs. The energy 100-130 j. This heavy warbow require years of practice.....

They inveted linear tactic:

English longbowmans normally use a single row.

Ultimately given that there are many refugees, a city wall to protect and little time available, the crossbow is the right choice especially if it can be built in a short time and at low cost. Rate of fire is useless if you are not able to damage significantly the target. From a tactical point of view muzzle-loading guns are the direct evolution of the crossbows....

Sad to see that this series isn't really talked about much, even though WN is over, and we had a MC who enjoyed Oyakodon and Shimaidon, along with an army of Harem (plus even had kids in story).

It didn't really end up being that plot heavy of a series to talk about. Like one of most anticipated concepts in this series for me was the twin planet. The world, whatever it was called, has a double planet that's even inhabitable. They show interest in the planet, use a telescope to look at it, but that's where it stops; nothing comes from it.

Otherwise it was half-half curb stomping villains that had petty motivations and family raising. Seeing Minecraft abilities being used was entertaining enough, at least.

Well, the WN haven't been translated that far, but from what i got from using MTL on the final chapters. MC and a lot of his Harem members actually moved to that 2nd Planet via a teleportation system they found, and MC was apparently working to develop and make that Planet habitable again.

The Kingdom of Merinard is ruled by the Children of Sylphyel, her Sisters & Mother (they all had kids with MC, and the children's rule the kingdom in rotation on 10 years basis). The reason MC & the others moved to the other Planet, is because they didn't want to cause issue by ruling the Kingdom for a long time because of their long lives and cause issue.

Also, MC apparently is still alive even after 200+ years, though a few of his Harem members are dead by then (like Gerda, Pirna & a lot of Harpies) because of their race lifespan (not sure if Elen is somehow still alive or not). People like Danan & Leonard are also dead by then.

And MC's Harem is apparently still growing, with the children (of Sylphyel, her Sisters & Mother) wondering how many Step-Siblings they have (which apparently had already passed hundreds, because MC got a Achievement unlocked which increases the chance of successful pregnancies).

Not sure if it's the right thread, but we are finally getting LN Vol.7 in March 2024 (after nearly 2 & half years).
