Yemen Situation
Houthi using Iranian drones to attack Saudi, UAE Patriot radars:
"Conflict Armament Research says Yemen’s Houthi forces have been using unmanned aerial vehicles supplied by Iran to carry out attacks on Saudi and UAE Patriot radars. Four types of UAVs were unveiled by the Houtis recently and CAR says the Qasef-1 is type that carried out an attack near Aden last month. Six of the drones were captured last October and it was found that they share the same serial prefixes to the Ababil-T UAV produced by Iran." Houthi mines in Red Sea:
"Images have just surfaced (Twitter) of the type of mine laid by retreating Houthi rebels in Midi, Yemen. At the same time reports are coming out in Arab media that the Saudi Navy has disarmed some sea mines in the Red Sea near Mokha (Alarabiya)." "It's been a crazy weekend of events in Saudi Arabia, which has included a missile
attack on the heart of the Saudi capital, the arrest of some of The Kingdom's most powerful men, and even a suspicious helicopter crash near the Saudi Yemeni border. News out of Saudi Arabia has been coming fast and furious over the last 48 hours. It started off with reports of a ballistic missile attack on Riyadh's King Khaled International Airport on Saturday. The missile, which was launched from inside Yemeni territory, was intercepted by a PAC-3 Patriot surface-to-air missile battery located near the airport. No less than four Patriots were fired at the incoming target, which swatted the ballistic missile out of the sky, with debris falling on one of the runways at the sprawling airport." Yemen's Houthi Rebels Are Now Striking Saudi Arabia With Cruise Missiles:
"Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for an apparent cruise missile strike on an airport in neighboring Saudi Arabia. The group has released video showing its fighters launching a missile that is visually similar to Iran's Soumar ground-launched cruise missile. The footage offers additional evidence that the Yemeni militants' arsenal, which already contains suicide drones and short-range ballistic missiles, has expanded to include another relatively advanced weapon system. Saudi authorities confirmed the strike on Abha International Airport on June 12, 2019, saying that it had injured 26 people, eight of them seriously enough to require they go to a nearby hospital. The remaining individuals only required first aid on the scene. Abha is situated approximately 100 miles from the Yemeni border. "The targeting of Abha airport proves that the Houthis have obtained advanced weapons from Iran," a statement from the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen said. The Houthis do not appear to have ascribed a name to the weapon in question, but externally it looks like Iran's Soumar, which itself appears to be a ground-launched derivative of the Soviet-era Kh-55 air-launched cruise missile. Iranian engineers likely reverse engineered Soumar from a number of Kh-55s that the country illegally acquired on the black market from Ukraine in 2001. The Kh-55 has a range of around 1,500 miles and can carry a 1,000-pound class conventional warhead." See: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zon...ruise-missiles |

Houthis Say US Reaper Drone Shot Down, Release Video, Pics:
"In recent days, Houthi rebels in Yemen have released video footage and photos of what they claim is an American MQ-9 Reaper being shot down and crashing in Yemen. The video and images have yet to be confirmed, but a report from CNN today that a Reaper had been shot down in the Red Sea by what US officials claim was likely an Iranian missile fired by Houthi rebels, raises new questions over how active the tense situation in the Persian Gulf has become."
