You know, considering that most of the original cast still play roles here and that
Spoiler:
it is the third season. Games are considered a trilogy after all.

It is a continuation of the story for sure. But that they absolutely minimized the involvement of the original cast in season "two" kinda undercut that for me. I really would have liked some more involvement of Karura and Touka, but they were kept as sideshow characters who barely had a speaking role. That Haku was a weeny in last season didn't help at all, since I never felt any emotional connection to the guy. His sudden personality change in this season hasn't helped with it, either.

It is a general issue of season 2. They concentrated to much o a SoL part and cut everything else.

Man, Maroro got screwed over, hard. Well, at least he saw Haku one last time.

And, ain't it a bit late to introduce a brand new mastermind villain?

They have 11 eps to go. Plus in the original Utawarerumono the main villian were also pretty episodic most of the season. And if the actual villian is Uoshisu, he is there from the start.

Oh, wow, I think we were nearing the end. Yeah, okay. With 11 episodes to go, it makes sense to introduce a final villain.

Well, I didn't follow the news on this show closely. Heck, looking at the forum activity for it, I think most people didn't.

I personally got discouraged because of trant by game fans that complaine about any minor cut comparing to the game. So I prefer not to write any impressions here.

Second half preview. A bunch of spoilers. And, if I am not mistaken, they used the game OP for it. I wonder, if they'll use it for the anime also.

Lots of spoilers, but it's a nice preview of what's coming.

Well it's nice for the sake of a climactic battle that Raiko flip-flopped really fast on his whole "you can just kill me now" thing . Not that I don't get his logic at all, but I think his original mindset was fine. Turning to that kind of power now would be pretty pointless. What if he actually won? He had to have known that wouldn't have worked out for him either. Well I suppose he figured he'd lose so it was fine.

Real main villain (I presume) makes his appearance. Or at least the next major figure. Not like Haku was going to get to tap out on all this that easily.

I do kind of appreciate that Raiko did figure out that girl was not entirely on his side. Although in her heart she was so...mixed feelings for her. She did her job, but got the person she loved killed. Rough day...

It's a boy, not a girl.

Isn't it Mikazuchis aide who is male? Shichiriya seems female for me (and anime databases list this character as female).

Wasn't Shichiriya also the one impersonating Anju on the battlefield so they could kill Oshtor, but ended up assassinating Maroro when he stepped in to save Haku?
