What a nice ride this episode, why all the episodes from Re:zero feel so short! I want more!
Now this episode started right into the fight, there was a bit too much confidence from Crush and the others looking at how they really went all out against the White Whale, but obviously a so powerful enemy can't be defeated so easily. Then the counterattack began with mind control over Crush forces, seems like the Whale can literally get into their minds and turn them crazy. Something that was amazing is how when Subaru and Rem started to bait the Whale again Satella appeared on the scene. Wilhelm on the other side was literally a monster, we were able to see more about his past and it seems that he met his wife when they were young, then his town/home got attacked and Thearesia saved him. Wilhelm's motivation is 100% revenge but the guy is able to keep his mind cool, same goes for the others which keep control even in this situation. Finally another cliffhanger at the end, damn it! can't wait for the next week to see what happens with this fight. Oh by the way is nice to see White Fox is taking some time with this fight, this way doesn't feel rushed at all. Forgot this! Spoiler for Satella:

We hadn't had one of these high octane action episodes since the battle against the Ulgarm, but this time we are full on against the raid boss. And it lives up to its name once it becomes enraged.

I was half expecting to see Elsa in that scene. It looks like whoever that is has black hair. Probably meant to contrast Emilia if that is Satella. Oh and seriously the end of that episode. They're so screwed :/ |

That's quite the shocking cliffhanger with revealing that there's not one but three White Whales! Not sure how they're gonna pull out of this given the trouble just one was causing.
I hope that's not the end of Wilhelm, just getting snacked on doesn't seem quite a fitting end given what he showed and his background this episode. |

Ahah, and people were worried how would they bring the whale down, and their army comes up with fucking magitech cannons
Personally, i do not like the mix between technology and magic since i prefer a pure medieval fantasy world but that also happens in the MMO i play (GW2) so i'm kinda used to it by now. The action was fantastic and i liked the Wilhelm's flashbacks. Good timing in using them too! Theresia is a badass behind that doll face. She made a really cool disarm to Wilhelm's sword..lol Plus, Satella hype!! Her lips were shown!!!!! I can sense so much love from her towards Subaru |

I bloody knew it was more than one.
As usual the animation was nice to watch. However, I didn't really like Wilhelm's flashbacks, I mean it is a bit late for that, in my opinion. Except for a skilled swords man, we didn't really get to knew him until the last episode(?). So i'm not sure if he deserves some development so close to the battle, unless of course he survives. |

It's hard to be bothered by the tragic things in this episode considering what happened before.
Surprisingly, everyone seems to know about people being forgotten. All the time I was thinking there was going to be some dramatic turnabout because of it. Wilhelm probably isn't dead because he was swallowed whole. Satella appears! I guess she's okay with him using his "reveal punishment" as a way to bait magic beasts. Maybe she's just happy to have an excuse to put her scent on him. One whale, two whales, three whales, a hundred whales. Whatever. Quote:

Well, things went south. It's looking grim. With there being more than one whale, I don't know if there's any way to win this fight, even on a new life. Also, did we see a glimpse of Satella's face for a second when Subaru did his little trick again? We may see her return before long.

One thing that confuses me a bit regarding the white whale fog attribute: the persons hit directly by the fog are completely erased and everyone who had a bond with that person completely forget about them.
But back when Ram told Subaru she doesn't know who Rem was, she clearly showed that Rem's room was vacant. Because of that scene, it looked like the fog effect completely erased the victim existence even retroactively (so as if Rem was never in the Manor to begin with), but if it is just the memories, what's gives regarding Ram behaviour? Wouldn't she think Rem's room suspicious before cleaning it?
