Synopsis

Fable is a legendary hitman who has completed numerous jobs for a variety of clients. After concluding his latest assignment, the number of people he has recently killed becomes too high, and Fable is ordered by his boss to lay low for a year. He is suggested that having to adapt to life as an ordinary citizen might prove a valuable experience for his future work.

Fable is to be accompanied by the woman who acts as his driver, and the two will assume new identities as siblings. However, their boss warns them that they will both face a deadly punishment if Fable kills anyone during his time off. Thus begins Akira and Youko Satou's joint one-year sabbatical from the underworld.

The OP really fits as a quirky crime show .

The boogeyman of the underworld is known as Fable, practically a horror figure who will absolutely kill you no matter what...though no one will mourn human traffickers .

Kazuyuki Okitsu as the titular Fable! A stoic, taciturn, and surly man who is also kind of goofy in his own way like how he loves watching a comedy routine of some shirtless dude named the Jackal (Jun Fukushima?) .

Man, dudes' lucky to have an assistant and soon-to-be-sister in Miyuki Sawashiro. She even blows on his food (to no avail, but still) !

When the heat is up and The Fable needs to lie low, it's time to head to Osaka and pretend to be a normal civilian! I'm sure that'll go well .

And thus begins the story of the Sato siblings, "Akira" and "Yoko," and Akira really wants to see Yoko's license to prove she got a better photo than he did .

Dude really wanted those car burglars to succeed to find the money! Of course then they picked a fight that ended with them knocked out in two seconds...yeah, maybe this trained killer isn't cut out for civilian life .

Yoko really leaning into being a "sister" by improving her bros' fashion sense .

When he talked about having a "switch" for turning on the dialect, I didn't expect it to literally involve touching his head to do it. Though with how different Japanese can sound in different dialects, I guess it may as well be a different language .

Is that Akio Ohtsuka as Ebihara? He's in another crime show as a Yakuza guy by Tezuka Productions ?

i have a trouble with the night time or dark scenes, the lighting is so dim, i can barely make out the characters faces at times.

A meeting with the legendary Fable! A man known for his ruthless and efficient killing skills! Who also shows up looking like a total dork and has no idea how to talk to people .

Akira may be lacking in social niceties or conversation skills, unlike Yoko, but he knows how to kill people...especially when he can tell from a glance that you're packing .

They're totally going to end up using Takeshi's car, huh? Guess it serves him right for not leaving well enough alone and wanting to kick them out .

Akira may have disabeled all the cameras in his room, but there were still enough to get footage of Yoko undressing, lucky Yakuza guy .

How is Akira going to live without killing people? Maybe this HanaKana woman who catches his eye might help ?

Time for a house-warming party! Yoko is a happy drunk! Though figures Akira can hold his liquor well .

Yoko looking to find love? She can so easily charm men, I feel like she'd have a bevvy of options. Though figures she'd want to make sure Akira doesn't kill whatever man she finds .

Akira's skills at playing a wimp are absolutely masterful! Taking hits and making them look like they hurt and crying like a baby like a real pro! And it brought the cute lady to him again !

to be honest I would ship yoko and akira, too bad for the siblings setting but they are still so fun together.

Ebihara knows there's something fishy about that confrontation with Akira, though he still can't really leave the situation alone. I feel like he's going to turn his trust .38 against Akira at some point .

When Akira's not sleeping naked in a tub or just lounging around his room naked he's enjoying the comedy stylings of Jackal as the entertainer advertises and experiences bodily harm. In fact the best way to get his attention is to involve Jackal, like with stickers or a small standee .

Normal people have pets so the Sato siblings have got to buy pets, right? And why not buy a bird like Akira's trusty nighthawk gun! And Yoko can have a cute hamster .

The two guys who attacked him the night before are back again and it's time for Akira to deliver yet another sterling acting performance as a terrified deer being chased by a predator, running all over and screaming and then exhibiting some parkour skills to boot .

Ebihara is a okashira/captain, so why not let the bird be called that as well? And he's the kind of bird you don't want to mess with because he'll bite off your pubic hair .

How many more times is Takahashi going to watch Yoko change? Feels like he's destined for some divine retribution. Though he's jacked off on her enough and now he gets to take her out on a date to keep her busy and get more info on Akira .

Is there anything more manly than a dude working out buck-naked and another guy revving up his classic car's engine and asking him out? Wait, this got gay kind of quick .

Yoko got all dolled up for this "date" but immediately realizes the kind of guy she's going out with and is checking off the list of all the red flags...I don't think Takahashi is her dream guy, but she can appreciate the yakiniku .

Figures Ebihara wouldn't pull out Akira for a simple conversation (in a prius!), but instead pit him in a fight against a tough guy who owes the gang money to test his mettle as Fable and see him beat up...but they're about to see how dangerous Akira is even without a gun .
